Boamere
Porkjet: An idea: a small little "box" that you could drop on the ground and then click "Inflate" and it would grow to large sizes? It could be KAS compatible Please don't take this as me forcing you to do something , Just a suggestionAlso love the mk2 idea especially the in-line cockpit! (could you maybe add a nose cone as well so that you can use just the in-line cockpit
a__gun
Hey, these sketches look a lot like the YARD Aerospace Pack. He doesn't work on the mod any more so maybe you could get his permission to continue it. It technically works on .23. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/44273-0-21-x-YARD-Aerospace-Pack-%280-12%29Is similar, but frankly those models look a little rough - I prefer Porkjet's style
jfull
If you're making some new spaceplane stuff, don't forget the intakes. The stock ones are rather lacking.
Krevsin
Another thought: finishing the IVAs before moving on to the Mk2 parts could make a lot of sense since the longer you wait, the harder it will likely become to muster the will to finish them.I concur. I really love the IVAs you've done so far and would love to see more.
Porkjet
Just finished the first cockpit. I made it more pointy than originally scribbled. Cos we're talking spaceplanes. They dash through the atmosphere like a greased up lightning, so I tried to make it 'look faster'Can't wait to put it in the game tomorrow. Camacha
To be honest, I like this a lot more for a fancy stock look than for instance the B9 stuff. This is pretty amazing, especially if it fits with other existing parts.Edit: haha, I did not even read the stuff above, but mission accomplished, I would say

Simply amazing...Looks like i may finally have something to gradually replace the b9 parts i use. Dont get me wrong, The b9 parts are really beautiful and well made but most of them just dont go with stock parts/feel(a notable exception is the s2 shuttle parts)Porkjet is my new hero! Pockrtplanesairways
I just meant that if the hubs where 3.75m it wouldnt look right if it had the same diameter. Geeez. He also didnt say there wouldnt be one. Just that he wasnt planning to make one. Hypotethical ideas, Just throwing it out there. Porkjet is free to make whatever he wants to make.Yes he did.I don't really plan to make anything bigger than the 550.

So here's basically what the mk 2 needs.what you already listed:cargo bay, crew cabin, inline cockpit, cockpitWhat has also been suggested:larger/smaller fuel tanks, rocket fuel tanks, monopropellant tanks, inverted cargo bay (for rovers and bomb bays), inline shielded docking port. What still needs to be suggested (by me!):mk2-1 adapter cockpit, mk 2 to 2 1.25m adapter; reaction wheels, heavy duty landing gear, mk 2-1 adapter w/intakesYou do all that, and you would probably be a hero in the KSP community, as well as replacing B9 for lots of people. Starwaster
I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but how are the kerbals going to be seated in that cockpit? In chairs. Crash couches. Something of that nature. Generally speaking they'll be seated on their behinds.Any other questions?

Porkjet
Hey guys, thanks so much for all the friendly feedback! It was a lot of fun to make this cockpit, I shoudl totally make more spaceplane parts Heres the cockpit for you to test. As a little extra there's a hastily slapped together MK2 Crew Cabin placeholder.https://www.dropbox.com/s/xkaelclfjzzoicn/SpaceplanePlus.zipHow come this thing flies so well? Because I've added a lift rating to the cockpit! Yupp, why not? I don't have a deep understanding of aerodynamics, but anything that looks fast and aerodynamic should generate some lift, right? I'll add some (not too much) lift rating to all the upcomming spaceplane parts, so we can build lifting body -type things even without using FAR.Mr. President Kerbin Kerman personally wishes our test pilots the best of luck as they depart with the new prototype SSTO.Didnt make it to orbit in this attempt, but our space tourists got to enjoy space for a few minutes.
