jrandom
I'm still getting RAM crashes, is there a config file I can change, or do I have to cut back on mods?I didn't get RAM savings until I added configs that included each folder of parts I wanted it to compress. They look like this:ACTIVE_TEXTURE_MANAGER_CONFIG{ folder = AerojetKerbodyne enabled = true}Search for GreenSkull's configs. That'll give you a good starting point -- I saved 800MB with those.

jrandom
^ Thank youBe aware that if you're adding your own .cfg not covered by GreenSkull, check to see if the parts have any normal maps. If they do, you'll need to add a normal-list section to ATM know to not monkey around with those (since compressing normal maps breaks things for some reason). There are examples in the GreenSkull configs you can follow if you need to do that. Also, don't add a .cfg for TextureReplacer. That causes all kinds of weird breakage, as I found out this morning. dlrk
With the Greenskull configs, the textures on the monitors are all screwed up, and gray. I removed the JSI and Hyomoto files, replaced with the originals ones, deleted the cache, and tried again, and it's graying out with the Greenskull configs

(I have not had to do this -- I have no trouble so far with the monitors, so I don't know what particular issue you've stumbled across.) dlrk
I just tried again, this time only adding the new cfgs, without editing/replacing the old one, and the problem still occurred, so it's in one of those.
crushcastles23
Okay, never installed mods before, quick question, where do I put the file, and do I put it in the zip or just the .dll in the place it needs to go.(I'm on Windows 7.)
NathanKell
Given there is a GameData folder in the archive, you should extract the archive to your KSP installation folder (where there is also a GameData folder), thus creating BoulderCo and ActiveTextureManager folders in ksp/GameData/
NathanKell
rbray: I've just had to help about 3 people in the last day and a half with this; could you release a new version of ATM with a modified BoulderCo.cfg that also excludes BoulderCo/Atmosphere, not just BoulderCo/Clouds? I was hoping to get some time at some point to re-vamp the ATM mechanism (something similar to LOD) but real life is getting in the way in a serious manner EDIT: Also, many, many thanks! I was hoping to get some time at some point to re-vamp the ATM mechanism (something similar to LOD) but real life is getting in the way in a serious manner Life first, mods later. somnambulist
Most? Try "anyone with a brain and/or heart" RL first, always. There's a lot of adolescent behavior on these forums. Look at all the hurt fee fees in the B9 thread.

BigD145
There is a gamedata folder. Put things in there. The existing folders should give you an idea of how things generally, but do not always, have to look.
SebFierce
I'm currently using the 64bit "hack" version of KSP and soon, KSP will be a 64bit application officially. Will there be a version of this wonderful mod that keeps the textures full size and just reduces the load times?Been using ATM for that purpose on the 64bit version because it crashes often (mods don't work perfectly with it yet) and reloads take aaaaages without ATM.
