I've done a couple of rockets that land like that. A couple of issues to consider are that you'll need mechjeb to land it. They're also very tippy on any surface that's not perfectly flat because of the high center of gravity. This rocket is pretty stubby compared to the one in your link and it's still pretty top heavy. While they might look sort of cool, they're not very practical.

I suppose this technically qualifies.

Qualifies you for the loony bin, of course.

Honestly, with the recent sponginess of landing legs, I'm tempted to do something like this on all my designs. It's easier to reinforce a rigid part with struts than to deal with legs that don't hold a vessel up well. Every time I land, now, I'm worried that my engines will get knocked off...
