I found an other reference: The RTG's description's last line says "not to be used for providing heating during emergency rover excursions". It's a direct reference to what the protagonist in "The Martian" does, which is exactly that: he uses an RTG to heat his rover during an emergency excursion.

If it's not an intentional reference then it's one hell of a coincidence

I just started a new sandbox game and on my very first launch, at about 6 minutes after game start time I whizzed by *something* at about 128 Km. I don't think it was debris since everything should be behind me as I had just circularized. Anyone else run into this?

Quite possibly. 

It could have been a section of shroud that should have been behind me, but somehow got ahead.

@MalfunctionM1Ke.  It would appear that the SSTV  signal on Duna is back.

Obviously this could change for release.

It wasn't in yesterday's build (1517). I was suspicious so I decoded again. Same signal. Those lines in the upper left always looked like an airport layout to me.

There's some new easter eggs now in version 1.2 (well the prerelease builds), and I'm not talking about the new dishes around Kerbin, I'm talking about green monoliths on near all the planets and moons that didn't have any easter egg. I'm still researching and scanning the planets but tomorrow I can show here some pics and the locations...

I"ve not had time to look myself yet, but Is there anything different (apart from the colour, naturally ) about the green ones?

My first thought is that they could possibly be semI-random and be in different locations in different saves.

Well I decided to go and check. I started a fresh save, and headed straight for the coordinates for the north pole green monolith I listed above.

No monolith to be found, just kilometers and kilometers of empty ice shelf:

So it would appear your hunch is right, the green monoliths do not seem to be permanent fixtures and are at least different per save.

Can anyone else one confirm this (cause a sample of one doesn't make for very good science)?
