I like the idea of having the odd mission to ferry Kerbs into LKO or Munar orbit and return them safely for profit. Or alternatively experience the horror of speed wobbling your way down the runway to the firey death of a cabin packed with high profile Kerbs, and ultimately destroying any future funding for your program.

This makes it sound like cheese is the currency of Kerbin. Not sure how I feel about that but they sure do think about food a lot so maybe it fits.

I feel like if its implemented properly, tourism can be an excellent motivator to send kerbals places. It could promote reusability for suborbital flights, higher-capacity landers for Munar missions, or massive interplanetary ships for Laythe transfers.

What about funding via transportation of Kerbals and/or science missions for the "high tech companies" that supply the KSP?

This is one way I'll like to see space bases and stations given a bigger role. You could have Kerbals asking to visit a certain base or station, as well as certain planets.

I don't think tourism should give flat unlimited money, it should have the same approach as science, the first ones to get to somewhere new will be willing to pay a lot but as you repeat the same kind of tourism then kerbals will be willing to pay less and less till you barely pay the gas bill to get them there.

I made a ship similar to SpaceShipTwo, but it can drive unmanned and uses KW Rocketry's WildCat V 1000 Kilonewton engine, and MechJeb for orbital maneuvering.

It also has a stack separator for the 2 Kerbal cockpit using B9 aerospace just in case of critical failure or aerodynamic failure, plus Van Guard Parachutes for the ejection system in case of really really bad situations!

As if getting funds was actually difficult, even on hard. Or even on hard with payoffs dropped from 60% to 30%.

Contracts need work, not just new contracts, or more hoops to jump through, but something more interactive altogether, IMO.

Well, it could work, if you made a separate class of Kerbal who couldn't fly your spacecraft or do science but would get you loads more money and rep on successful missions.

Tourism is really no more than any other "orbit at altitude X" contract. It adds nothing interesting, IMO. What we need is stuff to actually do.
