Majorjim!
Ehhh, that should actually be fairly easy. Best way i can think of right now would be to lower the cargo down using RCS for breaking. The gravity is so low it won't be that big of a problem.Yeah that was my 'inelegant' solution. I have another idea that will be cool but may be too tricky, we will see. Look at around the 7:00 minute mark.I had an idea last night and started my crewed lander from scratch, it took a lot of extra work but it looks much closer to the real thing now. ScriptKitt3h
Working on a giant space station for my Duna colony led to this ridiculously oversized core segment.1344 Kerbals (at max capacity), with two medium S3 LFO tanks and ship/module add-on potential...I might need a better PC if I want to complete this. VR_Dev
Stock engine mechanism or mod?mod. i can see the hinge from IRYep IR. I don't know any stock tricks. And I honestly don't know what to do for the bottom engine doors. The thing is super dope though, and really fun to fly
Mad Rocket Scientist
Well, Zucal and majorjim's constellation missions are inspiring me to build my own constellation missions, right after I finish the AAP challenge, and release my hardware. I'm away from KSP for a while, but after that...

Lots and lots of boosters (and then a large transfer stage). What's not shown up in the pic (besides the stuff I strapped on to take it to Duna) is also the massive ring of disposable ASAS modules I had to use to turn the darn thing. And yes. Dropships are very cool.
ghostbuzzer7
Simply Europa One Project as shown in the movie of Europa Report. There was a lot of offset clipping. And High School ended. more posts!! Yes there is hidden command pods and there is no obstruction of hatch in EVA. A little trick I did Javascript is disabled. Zucal
Some pics of my updated Curiosity rover which is turning out to be one of my best replicas. The updated launcher is looking great too:Lookin' nice! I should get to finishing and releasing my Curiosity, it got good feedback. In the meantime, I finished my SPR pressurized rover for Constellation, but it's bigger than I anticipated. yet more lander rebuilds.. sigh.Only Ares V, Ares 1, Orion, the other lander, and Altair to go. It's as if there's a constellation of components.. oh, wait.

I'm amazed just how long it takes to make these things! Keep it up mate, finishing it and flying a full mission is awesome.
Rune
Thanks Zucal. lol yeah there's always something to do when making a constellation mission. I'm amazed just how long it takes to make these things! Keep it up mate, finishing it and flying a full mission is awesome. You know? Now that you guys are working on Constellation, I got a bit nostalgic and dusted off the Phoebus design... rebuilt it from the ground up in about half an hour, and even though the fairings certainly don't work like the real thing (no interstage ring, and the S-IVb's radius is faked with another fairing that goes away before space), the thing is looking amazingly accurate and with plenty of margin, and that is having still the old Skippers as F-1 equivalents, and Reliants as J-2 stand-ins. I am especially happy about how I used the fairing between the S-II and S-IVb to fake an intermediate radius and get the Saturn profile right this time. It comes a bit shorter than the real thing, but I can stretch the S-IC a bit more... mostly because the Skippers are thrust-capped at 80% to get the accurate ~1.2 TWR at launch (I also have the center engine running dry first, of course). And yeah... about 135 parts in total on the launchpad. Might add a service tower to bring it up to 150, I have a couple of ideas about that.Rune. No pics yet, though, I haven't even done a first stage propulsion test, just some VAB first-pass work.
Yukon0009
Hey MJ, I see you are using the stock fairings which release...interestingly, wouldn't having a 2 panel fairing be worth the trouble of buildin one? Also looks very nice, the rover. As you know, I Love building custom fairings, the only issue with using them for the aeroshells is part count. The landers are large so a fairing for them will add lots of parts.. I can look into it, and with unity 5 maybe, maybe they will be viable. I just want to release the damn thing though and not have to wait for squad to fix the broken game..
