Ah, ok. I was going nuts trying to replicate :]

Yeah, I don't remember/know why 1Unit=5kg. But I think you still need to include B9 config in RF, otherwise the fuel capacity will be too low.

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but do you have FAR installed? The stock aerodynamics has *MUCH* more drag than in real life.

That's a fair question. Yes, I have FAR installed, I cannot stand playing without it.

Umm, this is probably an idiot filter, (in which case I have failed) :(

When I click your Download link on the OP it takes me to the GitHub page where I cannot for the life of me see a button to actually download the mod. Halp?

Click the Source code (zip) button, there is a Gamedata folder in that file too. You know the drill: when in doubt, start clicking all the things.

So I'm messing about with cfg files to fit with the KSAEA tech tree, Stock Part Revamp, and NoMrBonds's F100 engine. I made the SPR engines into Allison J33 (P80/T33 Shooting Star) and GE F110 engines, and I'm wondering if anyone has put together a config for NMB's F100 that makes it match AJE functionality? And if so, what should we make the existing AJE F100 into? Seems a pity to have two of the same kind of engine.

Some F110 late model :D

When you're done pls share the cfg, either paste here or on github

I'd say, make the current F100 into GE F100, while NMB's F100 into P&W one. They're slightly different. Since the current F100 is the P&W version, you can just copy the data to NMB's one.

Do I need to do something special to use the shock cone intake as an intake or is there a problem with the part? And, additionally, can anyone point me to good parts packs with relatively efficient engines?

I downloaded the updated version of RealFuels and seem to be doing much better when it comes to fuel consumption. With proper procedure and climbing to a suitable flight level I get a moderately decent range out of a little over a mk. 2 tank. Thanks for helping me with the trouble!

camlost, so far I mostly copied over the settings for the J47 F-86 engine (from the FS.cfg) and then modified them to make the J33; I can't make heads or tails of the actual AJEtest or all the little numbers it needs, though. Is there any more documentation on how to find or derive all of those? The customization guide in the download was hard (for me) to understand. And here I thought I was a fan of planes.

Ah, sorry, I posted before checking my email. >.>

I'll send you a pull for the new RF fuels if that hasn't been fixed yet.

It's been fixed

Anyone have a compiled version?

Open the zip file and see.

Everybody was fan of planes, but seems jet engines are very specific subjects that few people is familiar with. If you look at the flight sim market you'll find out that most flight models have very crude models. What do you not understand about the Tester? Look at the picture in the folder about the meaning of parameters.

I had the same problem. Go to GameData\AJE\inlets.cfg and replace scramAirIntake with shockConeIntake.

Ok, I'm still working on the configs for the J33 and F110. I figured out what all the numbers mean and have been playing with them to get what I need. Is there a good source for such numbers? I found a couple of sites on google, and have been looking at engine manufacturers websites. I've found compression ratios and bypass ratios (0 for the J33 turbojet), but don't have data on the efficiency of the various parts or the pressure ratios of the individual fan vs the compressor for the F110, or the area of core for either engine. Google hasn't been much help. And I'm getting more thrust in the game than I am in the AJE tester. The J33 is definitely coming along, though.

I'm thinking of putting off the F110 because nomrbond said he is going to be working on a separate F110 model in the vein of his F100. Might make it into another non-afterburning turbofan.

Thanks very much!

P.S. I think I might just remove the default AJE F100 in favor of NoMrBond's model, at least on my install; there are quite a few engines using the default basicJetEngine model already. :)

Can anyone suggest good parts or part packs for atmospheric engines? Stock has sporty engines and KAX will provide the propeller end of the deal, but some good turbofan engines or nifty looking models are still missing from my tool kit.

Have you tried B9 Aerospace?

Have you tried B9 Aerospace?

I have, I panicked because I got lost between the piles of parts and removed it again. With the OpenGL trick, my new snazzy part sorter and a stock look that has grown towards B9 I might have another go :) I could always just install the engines.

@Camacha, you guys need to update from the github more often, it's been fixed.

I think I updated yesterday or maybe the day before, but cheers, thanks for your troubles!
