Component Space Shuttle - dev thread [IMG heavy!]

Hi everyone !!

I need some help, I installed the mod in 0.90. I can play with it in Sandbox but I can't load it in career mod because it says I'm missing the parts of the shuttle. But there is no parts to unlock in the science building. Anyone have an idea how to fix this and make it available in career ?

Yep first post :). And I already need some help :P

I have encountered this issue. I believe the reason is...unfortunately, it is not yet set up to work in the Science and Career modes of the game. Sorry about that.

There is a way to edit the config file. Take a look at these few lines of the part config for the Mk1 Pod:

TechRequired = start

entryCost = 0

cost = 600

These are the parameters that define the tech node placement. Take a look for yourself, and maybe take say the SRB and make it go something like this:

TechRequired = heavyRocketry

entryCost = 1000

cost = 10000

Hi,

First, thank you all for you answers. I did find a similar workaround yesterday evening. And this is exactly how i did it :).

Just for others, I edited all the "parts.cfg" included in the mod folder. Sometimes it's not called "parts.cfg" but it has the name of the part instead (ex: Nose.cfg). And I just added this two lines :

TechRequired = start

entryCost = 0

This make the parts available in career mod at the start of the game. Since I already have finished the tech tree, I made it available for nothing. But you can change those value to place the parts where you want in the tech tree. Hope this helps :)

Why are there solar panels on the cargo bay? Didn't the Shuttle use fuel cells?

Guys... I know that in real life it's not solar panels ... it was done in 20 minutes, I just showed that if you want, can refine this model.

And by the way, why the dragon does not write anything? He was removed from the ban ?

He has given up on the forums...to my knowledge. He is currently working on getting a new site to move everything to now

Kartoffelkuchen What's wrong with this shuttle? I myself can redraw the shuttle if desired. Such as solar panels, it is so easy, but I do not see the point in processing model, but because of the small nuances absent in this model... :-\

Okay, but I warn you that I shared Cargo Bay on two different files. On this occasion, move the current version Cargo Bay to any folder, then look at the fuselage weight (it has changed).

Your changes is Greatï¼ÂHowever I found a bug when you attach Canadarm.The New Cargobay door will push the canadarm when it was closed.

maybe you could cancel the door Mesh Collider ?

Also,you could change cfg to fix the CSSFuselage transfor texture

Yes, I also noticed an error with the Canadarm. Already corrected. Sorry for such a stupid mistake, but I warn you :). Just slightly reworked textures for Colombia, maybe someone will like.

Hey, and new question to any who has Dragon's ear:

Does Dragon01 have any plans on returning to the forum?

If not, if it alright with him, I would be perfectly happy to maintain a CSS thread for any and all further updates to the CSS in his absence! I await his/your reply! (note: I will not be making to changes to the files themselves, just providing the updates/download links as updates are made and provide the forum with as up to date info on the status of the mod).

I am just interesting in CSS.

I just try to edit the cfg file.Actually,I have no idea how to build or change the 3D model.

Like the model,SDHLLV,An old model can not work well on current,I just try to edit the cfg file and combine with some part from CSS to make it "Relive"

Like the textures and FINALLY i can make Columbia look a little more believable! Can we get a new texture for the Challenger's tail? It looked like Columbia's without the silts pod

Maybe you can make it better.

The SDHLLV 3 ssme must replace with the same part in CSS model to ensure successful launch.

I just try to rewrite cfg file to remove the engine and replace the ssme in the CSS model,However,I can not edit 3D model to remove the old engine.

Yes, that tail texture is exactly what I am looking for. Also, I really am wanting a tail cone like that (so I can run the Enterprise Approach and landing tests for my upcoming STS Recreation youtube series)
