Weird because it looks like the model has rcs ports built into it.

The model does have it built in, transforms are there and everything, all it takes is adding it to the config and you'd have RCS forward too. Since this is RO though, and AFIK it didn't have it forward in the core, so therefore it's not there in my cfgs. I will say though that Frizzank didn't install the transforms correctly though, but until he does, or allows somebody else to, we get what we get.

Could you make realism configs for DennyTX' OLDD packs? There's a very good Proton and a Saturn V (you already made a Saturn V for FASA, Denny's is better scaled, but that's it). Also, it'd be great if you could add some nodes to ensure OLDD and FASA parts are, to a point, interchangeable (so you can avoid having two redundant Saturn Vs).

Also, I think I'll give Soyuz and MIR realism pack another shot. I'll need that Proton. I just need to finish my CSS update (and find some time for this all, I've got exams in a month), and I'll probably try overhauling it, too, along with the Buran, if everything works.

I actually started working the Saturn V yesterday, very well could be done today, for sure I'll at least put up what I have this afternoon. The node idea is wonderful, like use Denny's SLA, since well...Frizz doesn't have one.

Hey RedAV8R, got a "request" (not really, go at your own pace :P)

blackheart612's Aerojet Kerbodyne pack. It will make replicating the SLS Block I much easier, as it's basically a pack for the ICPS/DCSS, and includes a RL10B-2 like engine (there's already one in RO but it has a big honking thrust plate). It also has the stage adapter, though I'm not sure it will scale properly as a 5 meter - 8.4 meter adapter like the real SLS (since it's built for stock KSP with a 2.5 meter - 3.75 meter adapter). Anyways, good luck if you try to do it, it would be greatly appreciated since I love using RSS for replica craft! :)

I'm having an issue, where my Titan II can no longer reach orbit with a Gemini capsule on top. I was able to make orbit with a little fuel remaining before I updated my version of RO to the one with your patches included, and removed your standalone patches. Same rocket setup =/= same DeltaV. I asked Nathan about this and he sent me back over here.

Because Nathan simply includes the latest files at the time...quite frequently he doesn't have the actual latest stuff...I would delete everything in the RedAV8R folder of RO and unzip both my RSS_Resources.zip and FASA.zip available on the OP and see what happens...IF everything is the same, same DeltaV, same burn time, etc...then the issue isn't with my stuff...Make sure you have the latest of everything else, mainly FAR, RSS, and DRE. I've got just over 9800 of Dv with my Gemini GLV...got into orbit just fine. What kind of launch profile are you using?

Alright! Preliminary DennyTX (OLDD) Saturn V and Apollo set is up now. FASA is now using Frizzank's latest beta 4.6. Make sure one grabs the latest RSS_Resources as well. With the advent of ModuleRCSFX I have taken the liberty of permanently attaching the RCS pods in their correct spots for the Apollo Command Module, Service Module, and Lunar Module, less part count, easier to build, and like the Service Module, it is in it's correct spot. I've definitely got some CoM figures to work on to bring everything to work best it can, but its coming along nicely. Took the FASA Saturn-V with CSM/LM for a trip, seems to work pretty well. As always see something you want fixed, or bug, let me know.

Hi, I'm posting here because I can't seem to solve this myself. There's an issue that I keep having when I use FASA with your realism patch.

When I launch the rocket everything seems to work perfectly, but then when I get to around 30,000m the bottom stage of the rocket is destroyed for no reason. It happens on every launch and so far I've had the same thing happen with the Saturn 1B, Titan, and Mercury Atlas. I checked to see if the heat was destroying them, but it seems to happen after it has started to cool down so that's not the issue, and it's not excessive stress because it even happens when going straight or when I stop accelerating.

It's happened on both 0.23 and 0.23.5, and I've tried newer and older versions of FASA, RSS, Ferram Aerospace, with and without KJR, and I'm completely stumped what it could be. Have you got any ideas of how I could try to fix this issue? :)

Don't bother with .23 anymore, it's not supported, .23.5 is the latest and greatest and the changes made make everything work better. The best way to resolve this...get a fresh copy of KSP, folder anywhere, you can have multiple copies, now, start from scratch...install KSP, RO, RSS, KJR, FAR, and all other required mods. Then get the latest FASA beta (4.60 at this time). Then for giggles delete all the files in the RedAV8R folder of RO, download the latest files here on the OP, and put them in the RedAV8R folder of RO. See what happens.

Would you be able to re-scale the SDHI parts to 5 meters? I can do it myself but it'd be nice to see it released to the public from someone like you. A Taurus re-scale would be good for the Orion capsule (I think NathanKell said somewhere he'd like for the Taurus to represent Orion)

Have no fear...it's actually already done:), along with Aerojet Kerbodyne, actually just doing some tweaking right now, I should have a good release out tomorrow. With the request for Aerojet Kerbodyne...only seemed right to make the SDHI fit it for Orion...Taurus is on the list as well to complete the package, I haven't touched it yet though...probably start on it tomorrow after I put up Aerojet Kerbodyne and SDHI. The big issue at this time for Aerojet Kerbodyne is an adapter for the 200' (not 5m BTW) to the 330' interstage as the current adapter only goes to 300' with the current scaling...which doesn't look too bad scaling the 3.75 KSP NASA tanks to the same diameter and turning the 4 engine into SSME specs...it's not FASA quality but it works...what do you guys/gals think?

I'd say you should just ask blackheart to make the proper-aspect-ratio interstage; shouldn't take him long to rescale the model. :)

Also you might want to check in with RaccoonTOF, who's also been making an SLS out of the Kerbodyne parts (on the RO thread a few pages back)...and also making one of the NK-33 models floating around into an AJ26.

You are talking about a 200" to 330" adapter, right? I wish Squad made the new parts for stock KSP 4.125 meters rather than 3.75 meters. It's a better scale for both Saturn V and SLS replicas. And thanks so much, RedAV8R, you've really done a lot to make Realism Overhaul that much better.

I always thought it was 5 meters to 8.4 meters. If only everyone used the metric system...

Alright...The AerojetKerbodyne - SDHI -TaurusHCV update is out. ZIP at the OP...The AerojetKerbodyne project basically mimics the 200" (5m) Delta Cryogenic Second Stage. Best use will be using the larger tank for LH2 and the small tank for LOX. Since AerojetKerbodyne mod is made to work with SDHI, and the Taurus HCV, I've updated both to approximate their use based on the Orion Spacecraft set to debut with the SLS.

IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE DELETE THE SDHI.cfg found in the RealismOverhaul folder.

As always, things will be improved, so any comments/suggestions/facts, please help me out.

Just realized I didn't get the nodes in and size the small secondary thruster placed x4 around the main AJ-10-190 dirivitive. In all fairness this Orion/AerojetKerbodyne/SDHI is very young when it comes to completion, it will be improved as time goes on. Sizes should be right for the most part, but fuel and other things are still being worked on.

I fixed this for myself by changing the Rescalefactor back to 1.25 which is also the value used in Sumghai's original config file. Hope this helps.

Where is the Taurus heat shield? I can't find it.

For the pack...you need to install AerojetKerbodyne, SDHI, and the Taurus HCV. Every link to these 3 packs is on the OP. To build the Orion SLS upper stages...Start with the Taurus pod, put one of the two docking ports on top. The IACBM is scaled to the real CBM size BTW, we should figure out a scale for the other docking port. Place the SDHI Boost Cover on top, followed by the LES from the AerojetKerbodyne pack. Now place the heat shield from the Aerojet Kerbodyne pack as it's built to match the Taurus (now Orion) pod. Now, place the SDHI Service Module, the whole thing, not just the avionics ring, which is scaled to match the Squad Mk1-2 pod as is the SDHI heat shield. Now place the AJ-10-190 based Orion engine, with the R4D-11 thrusters in a 8x ring around it. Outfit the service module with RCS pods and solar panels. Fit the AK (AerojetKerbodyne) decoupler, followed by the AK service module fairing. Now the The big LH2 tank, the adapter, the smaller LOX tank, and finally the RL-10 engine. Use either the 200" or 300" interstage to match the rest of your launcher. Hope this helps.
