Orange Tank needs a re skin and fix

Recommended Posts

So with the new update coming with the new parts and stuff the orange tank is just out of place. All the other tanks are shades of grey but that tank is just Orange, its just out of place. I think it needs a re skin and a fix for the overheating bug.

Maybe not so much a reskin, but it would be nice if the tank ends were more like the new SLS parts (you can see the fuel container caps, and some internal stuff).

The blank flat ends just look ugly, and it doesn't feel as if they contain fuel, they're just tubes.

I think the orange tank will stay. It's distinctive and a well known part, not to mention being just the ticket for SLS boosters.

I concur the other Rockomax tanks warrant a reskin to look more like rocket parts and less like oil drums.

I prefer the look of the rockomax parts on the exterior, personally - they feel as though they have a more crafted, "visceral" shape. The SLS parts indeed look smoother, more streamlined for spacecraft construction

Something of a mix between the visible fuel tank rounded-ends on the SLS parts and the rockomax exteriors would be great

KSP has for sure way to go before its finished, but i would not talk about such topics right now (just an opinion)... what if the current textures are displaying an early state of kerbal technology, before being upgraded from a tin can to a shiny rocket tank? Cosmetic changes can be done, when it is clear what makes it into the game. Otherwise it would be optimization before creation... i think that would be a waste of work resulting in less progress in gameplay. Lets wait and see, where KSP wants to go. I am pretty much satisfied with what this game has to offer right now and i am surely eager to see, what SQUAD has in store for us in future updates.

Yes, this. I really want to be able to see inside the faring a little, with rounded tanks within.

On that note, I'd love to see the large ASAS module get an interior as well. I'm not sure why it's completely hollow.

I doubt we're going to get a texture update on it, its pretty canonical now. :D

However, I would like to see something like StretchySRB's "pick a texture" integrated into stock -- there shouldn't be any reason we can't pick textures, and even a default texture, for our space programs.

Save art development costs, of course -- would you rather have Squad spending their money on fun gameplay additions (science, career, asteroids) or on graphical updates (especially when the mod community seems so willing to oblige)

Before textures I'd really like it if they fixed the collider consistency. Having things clipping into the tanks or floating half a meter away from them is pretty annoying. Once that is done, then yeah, a major retexture of -all- tanks given all of them are really bad except for the small 1.25m one.
