xEvilReeperx
That should've been fixed in 1.8.8+. Can you confirm that you're running 1.8.9? Also 300-400 MB sounds pretty extreme. ScienceAlert should only be using ~12MB at a maximum
BlackRay
1.8.9 on CKAN. It is a cumulative memory leak, but probably I wrongly put blame on ScienceAlert on the basis of similarites. Will do more testing and report if get a real zeroing on problem.

xEvilReeperx
Are there any suspicious entries in your log? Are you sure you have your settings correct? Is the min threshold set low enough to trigger them?
HafCoJoe
Hello! I've been using Science Alert in my stream and I've been making custom icons for all of my installed toolbar plugins in an attempt to get them all to match styles, however ScienceAlert doesn't use a standard image file. What I was hoping for was to create a gif of two images (In the shape of the R&D icon) that flashes twice a second.Idle (example):When science is available (example):Would it be difficult to add this? The time it takes to flash is 300 milliseconds. Here are the .dds images (The images above are just preview with a fake gray backdrop):Alternate Icons (imgur album) Edited August 25, 2015 by Avera9eJoe

9tea5
Filter method is set to 'Not Maxed', I also changed the threshold to 0.01 science. It's also done 'By Experiment' in the top options of the config menu.No experiments that I've come across are triggered, so I assume it's universally an issue. How do I get a copy of the log for you?EDIT: Also SCANsat integration is enabled. Edited August 24, 2015 by 9tea5

How do I get a copy of the log for you?EDIT: Also SCANsat integration is enabled. Some steps to get the log based on your OS can be found here. Have you scanned the planet? ScienceAlert won't trigger alerts for experiment results that depend on biome if you haven't scanned your current location for biome info through SCANsat, if you have that option enabled. Try flipping it off for a moment. If that's not the issue then something deeper is going on since everything else sounds correct
9tea5
Ah that was the issue! I didn't realize that with SCANsat integration it didn't trigger unless you'd scanned your current location.Thank you so much for pointing that out, trying to do all the experiments without your plugin was proving to be a tiring endeavor.Hope anyone else having similar/same issues also sees this, been bugging me for ages. Thanks a lot Reeper!

As a heads up though, I'm planning on putting my career save on hold until 1.1 drops and I would hate to ask for you to add this again... would it be better if you don't bother adding my textures in right now and I ask again after 1.1 arrives? - My subscription panel bugs out all the time too btw. ctbram
what is wrong with stop warp on discovery? It's driving me mad! The mod is not stopping warp when I get over an area I have not researched yet. I have global warp on and I also explicitly set stop warp on discovery for eva and I just merrily jip right over biomes without stopping. WTH is wrong? It means it wont stop until you multispectral scan the planet for biomes, turn that option off and it will work.

Tejing
Very helpful mod, except for one thing... I'd really like it to filter out experiments which you already have a copy of in your command pod, so you can set it to "not maxed" and not have experiments that you can't actually usefully do again till your next trip keep alerting you. xEvilReeperx
I could add an option to ignore reports already onboard, sure. Is the minimum threshold not sufficient? Could you define "can't actually usefully do again"? SA takes your settings extremely literally to avoid surprises and to avoid dealing with various what-ifs that might happen to the results afterwards. Kilhmar
Yup, there's still a memory leak I'm afraid. In low Kerbin orbit the mem creeps up at about a MB or two per second. Removed the mod and the leak stopped.
xEvilReeperx
How long did you test it for? If you just loaded a game and watched it, it might be creeping up because ScienceAlert is creating a special version of the biome map for that planet which takes 10 - 40 seconds and happens every time you change SoI. Are there any exceptions or other log messages? Other than the biome map, there shouldn't be any allocations anywhere near that large and definitely not continuously for multiple minutes.I'll look into it if you have any more details
Kilhmar
Every time I launched into low K-orbit and used time compression the RAM usage would increase steadily from about 2.5 Gig to when it crashed at 3.8 or thereabouts. I would get constant sound and visual alerts of the available EVA experiments I hadn't done yet as my ship changed biomes along its orbit. I would just watch the mem-meter jump 5-10 mb every few seconds. Removed the mod and it stopped.- - - Updated - - -Here's a list of the other mods I'm running. Could perhaps be a conflict with one of them.
