Today, I just got EVERYTHING reset on my browser. EVERYTHING. My custom theme, my 100+ bookmarks on these forums...

I've relaunched Chrome so I can't get them back.

Does anyone know what causes that sort of thing?

I use Explorer primarily, so I'm not sure how exactly Chrome works, but is there a restore point of any kind?

As for OP, There's probably not much you can do unless the files are still somewhere on your computer.

If you signed chrome into your Google account and enabled save to cloud thingy they should be back soon if not you cant get them back.

Try logging out and then logging back in to Chrome.

Please try creating a new browser profile, then selectively copying the parts you need from your old one. The following guide will tell you how to do it for your OS.

Grab a copy of your browser profile from your most recent backup and restore it.

Well, use whatever you prefer, but we've had to switch to Chrome at work because too many of our web tools (which are built to the standards) don't work properly in IE. Ironic, as many businesses are stuck with the exact opposite problem.

The best browser ever is torch. It is based on a open source version of chrome. It is insanely fast, and comes with a super effective downlaod accelerator! Yay!

If you use Chrome on another CP too with all the same book marks, you can use "advanced sync settings" and "sync all" to get everything back. Make an easy pass phrase if you want to make sure something is happening. My Chrome browser does that every once in a while for no apparent reason. I just use advance sync to import the bookmarks from one of the laptops. Hope this helps!
