Well, I started making a spacex mod before i noticed this thread. Geuss it's time to find something else to do.

Same. I was working on my own Falcon 9.... Then I saw Kart was making his own, so I just kept my falcon for my own enjoyment. Kart's is much better, however we seem to have had very similar ideas... I had added custom sounds to the engines, and different fairing textures for notable missions.... Kart still did a much better job... So I'm just sticking to launch towers for now (link is in my signature).

its Desktop/KSP_OSX/Gamedata/Spacex_ASDS.

read the readme, installed correctly. Recommended Hyperedit chords for GSO launch return?

It should be in GameData/Launchers Pack/Rockets

Sure that it says something different in The readme?

What are chords? Coordinates? Don't know, do a test launch and figure out where the stage will impact.

I attempted to make a Falcon Super Heavy with 5 total cores (4 strap on boosters, not 2). Theres still room for 4 more! (said no real engineer ever)

Falcon Super Super Heavy fits 8 cores around the center, for 92 engines total (91 Merlin 1-D+,1 Mvac+1)

Liftoff mass 1.6 billion tons, destroys the pad upon liftoff. [imgur]NndaZbM[/imgur]

How very kerbal of you :P does make me wonder if SpaceX will ever do a super heavy though, especially with the capability of returning those core stages, maybe to bridge the gap to the BFR. I won't go too off-topic though.

When can we expect the BFR KK? ;) (Just kidding)

They won't. They would need to modify the core booster too much to make it strong enough to support the additional weight, and a new rocket is simply more efficient there I guess. :D

When to expect BFR? When the announcement was made, and when there's actual information about it available. :P

DarthVader, my god, what a beast! :D

Now to Asparagus even more on the sides! It's the only way! Unfortunately I think I'll have to wait on the FSH, the vehicle experienced a Rapid Unplanned Disassembly about 3 minutes into flight, the first stsge succumbed to aerodynamic stresses. Interestingly enough, the upper stage and payload survived.

Is somebody interested in configs for 6.4x rescaled Kerbin mod? I am working on these right now, and maybe you also want a configfor another size? P

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

will you be changing the scale of the actual parts? My inclination would be to not

starting work on RealPlume Config for Merlin series engines (M-1C,M-1D,M-1D+).

got the engine back in game, RP is being annoying.

Real Plume is not compatible with 1.05, so never mind, I'm back to actually playing the game.

Fixed a typo in the .cfg (used a ! not a 1 for the name).

still broken, sorry i cannot be of more use.

Patch for SpaceX Launch Vehicle Pack released!

Hey guys, I've just released a small patch for SpaceX Launch Vehicle Pack. I've fixed the Octaweb (now the covers on its bottom are in the right position again) and added the burned textures you saw on the image above. I've also fixed the Falcon Heavy craft file (used Falcon 9 1.1 RCS for the Interstage) and the Falcon 9 Full Thrust Reusable craft file (Used Falcon 9 1.1 RCS for Interstage and had the wrong Interstage paintjob). To install, simply put the two folders into your KSP main folder and hit "replace" when asked. This replaces the old files with the new fixed ones.

Thanks! :)

Would it be possible to make landing site 1 (I think that's what it's called) at ksc?

Yes, I am working on it. Will add it with the upcoming new version which will include the configs for 6.4x scale solar system.

For my Real Fuels config, I had to raise the ISPs of the Merlins above what their estimated ISPs are to get the correct thrust-to-weight-to-burntime. Of course, we don't know the offical ISPs of these "full thrust" models yet as they haven't been announced. Currently I have my configs just making new parts so they don't overwrite the originals but if anyone is interested, I could make a quick Real Fuels MM patch for the "Full Thrust" model using my current configs.

Also, anyone who is still playing on 1.0.4 as I am, you might find that the Merlins spam the log with null-refs. You have to remove the "FXModuleAnimateThrottle" module as it is not in 1.0.4. That can be done with it a simple MM patch as well. Other than that, it works fine in 1.0.4 even though it's not built for it.

Presenting the SpaceX Landing Zone 1!

It works practically the same way as the ASDS. It is a probe, it has a poweful reaction wheel for rotating, a xenon powered engine and a big xenon tank, so you can move it around. Will be available soon. Thinking about doing Falcon 5 and Falcon 1e right now, it's only very low effort. Delta II coming along nicely too.

Nice :) It'll be fun placing 3 of these around the KSC for launching and landing Falcon Heavy stages. Also, why have I never heard of Falcon 5? Care to share some images of what that looks like? Google is not very helpful when searching for "Falcon 5" :P

It was a concept of SpaceX, but the work on it was stopped to work on Falcon 9 instead. Falcon 5 would have used 5 Merlin 1C engines in its first stage and one Merlin 1CV in its upper stage as far as I understand, and had to possbile options for fairings: 3.6m fairing and 5.2m fairing (-> normal Falcon 9 fairing). The overall launch vehicle diameter would have been 3.66m (same as F9), but it would have been shorter (47m) than F9. Payload to LEO would  be about 4t and to GTO 1t at a launch cost of 18 Million USD. That's what some sources say, some say different things, but it could be a nice launcher for smaller payloads I think. :)

Also, I just finished a paintjob for Falcon Heavy as you can see on SpaceX's website:

I personally like the paintjob with the "SpaceX" on the complete core more than with the SpaceX only on the bottom of the tank for Falcon Heavy. We'll see how FH will turn out in 2016. :))

Looks like an interesting concept. I think it would be very useful to have a Falcon 5 for the smaller payloads. There is not really any point in using a Falcon 9 for a payload between 1t and 4t, so Falcon 5 would be a nice "in between" option to have, especially for people who play in career mode. Also the new FH textures looks really good :)

As a sidenote, are you going to do a recoverable second stage in the future?
