Bored of games...

Ok. So I'm bored of pretty much all the games I have. I have GTA IV, Papers Please, KSP, FTL, and a few others. Does anyone know some good (ideally free) games of any genre (space or planes or science ideally)

Check out GOG.com. Stands for 'good old games.' They are things that have been out for years, and so are selling DRM-free for sometimes as little as $2. So if you don't like it, you haven't lost much. But the thing is, they are mostly good games that were popular in their times, and have been around long enough to be well-debugged. The graphics will be ancient, of course, but if you're like me and you're more impressed with gameplay, that's really not a problem.

Have you tried Dwarf Fortress? http://http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/

It's hard to describe what it is; you should check it out. Be warned that it takes time to learn how to even get past the first year.

EDIT: Here's the link for the wiki: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/

If you don't care for science or accurate physics, War Thunder could be a good option

Or Team Fortress 2. You can pay for stuff, but if you play long enough, you'll unlock a lot of things.

It's a nice and cartoony alternative to those "ultra realistic" FPS like BF and CoD, which are knowing for their mom-loving underage gaming communities.

Realistic?????!!!! CoD and BF????? Realistic? Maybe the graphix, but the gameplay is as arkade as it gets.

If you like flying try Old IL2 game. its WWII eastern front combat flight sim.

For space you should try Orbiter its realy nice, but gets boring really fast, and its free.

If you want space combat with basic newtonian physics (well mostly just inertia) and fairly realistic naval combat simulation (in space) You should try Starshatter the Gathering storm. Also Free here: http://www.starshattermods.net/downloads.php?cat_id=1&download_id=68

If you would like to try realistic and imersive Shooter Try ARMA II CO with ACE mod. But you need to play online, with some hardcore ACE/ACRE military simulation group to get the real realistic feeling.

But well even in singleplayer without mods its still 200% more realistic than CoD or BF.

Or ARMA III also more realistic than CoD and BF in terms of balistic and combat, but it has futuristic settings wich breaks the realism feeling a lot.

That's why I put it in quotation marks, to indicate sarcasm. :)

Those games are trying to look realistic, but under the hood, they have stuff like a health bar and time regeneration. TF2 doesn't care about it and wears it with proudness. It's what makes the game so good. At first glance, it looks like it came straight out of a comic book and people would question an adult playing it, but you have to be very strategic and play with your team if you want to win a game.

Exactly. It can be lighthearted, with the silly voice acting, but some clans play professionally.

If you like FPS with a good degree of realism, maybe try Red Orchestra 2 / Rising Storm or Verdun :)

Agreed here.
