In 100% seriousness, with clever Tweakscale use (and adding a 1.875m scale), you can have a fully functional Angara rocket as a stopgap. AFAIK, Angara might not be coming for a while, since Beale has his eyes on other stuff he wants to do.

Once started such changes Soyuz / Progress, by the way superb changes. You can make a separate heat shield for the Soyuz capsule?

In 100% seriousness, with clever Tweakscale use (and adding a 1.875m scale), you can have a fully functional Angara rocket as a stopgap. AFAIK, Angara might not be coming for a while, since Beale has his eyes on other stuff he wants to do.

Well with AB Launchers most of the parts you would need to make an Angara system are already there, granted you have to add tweakscale compatibility for the 1.875m size of the boosters.

Here's a ModuleManager config for all AB Launchers tanks and engines, and some Tantares tanks and engines.

Also, copy-paste this scale type into your Tweakscale defaultscales config, replacing the first SCALETYPE entry:

Wow. That's beautiful. Can you share technique you used to make upper part for Vostok/Voskhod propulsion module and Voskhod airlock?

For some reason I keep on getting 2 of the same parts but this is only with some parts the only mods I have are Chatterer, Destruction effects by BahamutoD, Hyperedit, Procedural fairings and Hotrockets, is there any fix to this? Also I've been looking everywhere but I can't figure out why the Tantares LV isnt just included in the Normal Tantares? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S THIS MOD IS AWSOME (Big fan of the Soviet Space Program)

I let my roommate go at it with a pen, and an image of the Tantares Space Technologies logo, and it turned out great. It was initially going to be named "Polaris", but he ended up writing out P-O-A inadvertently, so it then became the "Roach." I'm on the university rocket team, and we're working on a Hybrid 2K. I'm going to try to bring the spirit of Tantares into the real world at some point hopefully. :)

Looks great all around. Good choices. To recap, how many new parts will be added for the optional no-neck Progress? Having trouble keeping track of which parts are just you experimenting, and which parts will actually get finalized. Will the added Progress parts be memory-free because of the texture sharing?

Makes me very happy to see this kind of thing, it's adorable! Here's hoping it flies true!

Parts: Just one part for the Progress, the very simple descent vehicle. No stats for it yet, but I guess science container (obviously) and a liberal amount of KIS space.

Edit: Yes they are memory free.

I've been attempting to make one, but no dice so far.

EDIT: Redid the alpha channel for the Tantares TMA textures. Now it really looks like thermal fabric. In light it shouldn't be totally flat and nonreflective, and all the imperfections and texturing in the thermal fabric is apparent.

I'm looking into my fairing textures, and I might redo them in tga so they have alpha channels as well, and look better in the light. But that's a lower priority right now; I'm polishing TMA, and I'm also mucking about with the Mir textures, trying to get some color into the Mir Core Module (I stopped working on the Polaris-style texture, since I don't think it looks very good; but it's more or less finished and I'll release it this week). Looking at IRL Mir and Zarya for inspiration.

I custom-rescaled the Aerojet Kerbodyne ICPS lower tank for KVTK, so that's a more or less custom part. I also used the KSLO 2.5m engines, plus our dear friend TweakScale to get 1.875m sizing. Procedural Fairings for the interstage and payload fairing, Ven's Stock Revamp (I think) for radial reaction wheels I clipped inside the tanks, and that's it, I believe. The Space Shuttle Engines pack supplied the Angara 7.2 core engine (it's the straight SSME, standing in for the RD-0120).

Regarding releasing, cool yer jets! I'm very finicky with my textures so I'll make tons of small tweaks over a period of time. I'm considering revamping the PF textures entirely to add an alpha channel and make them look even nicer, but barring that you can expect a release of TMA, the textures and fairing shapes, and maybe some more Mir stuff by the end of this week.

The Voshkod is incredible! That hatch just looks so nice.

The amount of greeble on the Soyuz is just fun to look at too, love it!

Separate heat-shield, no good, it will be too thin (IIRC the model is about 0.07m), meaning really tricky and awkward to place in VAB.

2 Parts: I've never come across that one... I'd recommend a clean install!

Tantares and TantaresLV: TantaresLV is launch vehicles (Soyuz rocket, Proton, N-1), the things you can use to launch the spacecraft in Tantares. I could've choose a better name in hindsight. But, my English is never perfect.

Wow! My first post on this Thread and a Quote by the creator already??

I've tried not using any mods except for the Tantares and Tantares LV but it still doesn't work :( It makes no difference, both of the parts work like they're supposed to but its just annoying. I've been using this mod ever since the first 50 pages of this thread XD and I've never had a problem with it until now :(. Once again I would like to thank you for creating this mod, I was searching for ages for a Soviet themed mod and I love "Stock-alike" Parts and it bugged me no one created one Until you made this beautiful mod! Love all the parts! You even made the N-1 lander! (Haven't seen much of the N-1 until your mod)

So Thanks! I really appreciate your work! Keep it up!!!!

Tiny update:

- Progress-M descent module, to recover science.

- Expendable Progress look achieved with offset tool.

- KIS and DRE compatible.

- A little easter egg, somewhere!

Ooh! I love the new capsule design, but why did you mention DRE compatibility if the progress is meant to burn up?

I've butchered history basically!

This alternate control core is a "science return vehicle", with a heatshield, you can use it to retrieve science points from a station / whatever if you're so inclined.

Yeah. I find that probe missions with 1.25 parts are difficult. The science jr. provides barely anything by transmission.

Hey Beale, i dunno what the cause is, but i can't seem to undock my Soyuz crafts from my station... i'll provide some screenshots when i update this post.

If you have Kerbal Joint Reinforcement, make sure it is up to date. That was a bug in the last few versions. Otherwise I don't know.
