It's quite easy, but also quite awkward if you don't have knowledge of the UV unwrap positions.

True. I've used a color-coded (think: red in one corner, blue in opposite, yellow and green in the others) to sniff out the general positions in the past (not in KSP yet though? (edit: once, for the stock radial monoprop tanks)). It takes some trial and error and a few passes (stepwise refinement of the color quads, etc), but is generally reliable. Still awkward though. ;)

If you take a look at that, you'll see that the booster isn't a straight up slanted cone, but has different angles of slant in different parts. hence, they have a gradient

Yeah this is the plan, the current models are more "conceptual" kind of things to see how the texture stealing will work, and what balance the tanks have.

Beale, may you upload the texture templates of your mod? I want to try make little more "realistic" textures for TANTARES & Co, because I'm not a big fan of too-stockalike spacecrafts.

Sorry to say, I'm not quite sure which texture area is Front/Back/Side, I'd compare them to the existing textures.

For in-game, they are saved as 1024x1024 32-Bit Compressed TGAs, to keep file size down. But of course you can resize to anything :)

For all parts, not just Tantares. First I want to try to repaint the Alnair - I saw Excalibur/Almaz project and was very impressed.

what visual pack do you use in all of your photos?

Edit: Oh, but I gave Kerbin a yellow smog layer.

For the MIR parts, will any of them have the thermal blanket texture on them similar to your ATV.

Probably not, sorry to say.

The thermal textures are really time consuming, and I'm still not all too happy with the look of the ATV.

A Lighter coloured (closer to the real MIR colour) alternate texture might be possible, however!

I'm not demanding him to make something. When did I ever say the word make? I just told him to look at it for an idea. And the purpose of the raduga fits his needs perfectly. A modified hamal pod where you slip the container into it with all your science and send it back to kerbin. I never told him to make it. I told him to look at it for an idea.

I have a feeling English isn't your first language so what you wrote may sound fine to you but come off wrong for other people.

Perhaps for now, not a whole new part. But I'm planning some station science compatibility in existing supply craft! (Still you would need a heat-shield to retrieve them if using DR)
