Space_CoyoteFrom the FAQ in the first post of this thread:Q - The icons in the tracking station and map are just little black squares.A - There's two other mods that can cause this. ActiveTextureManager and TextureReplacer. If you have the former installed, you can find a fix in the first post of this thread. If it's the latter, then sorry, no known fix. Please let the TextureReplacer devs know about it.
andrew2343
I installed kerbinside with firespitter on it, and each time i selected a launch site other than the default ones, the game crashed. then i saw the FAQ, and i uninstalled firespitter by deleting the folder in the game data. however, it still does the same thing. i did not remove the firespitter crafts on the folder, i deleted them in game, but i doubt thats what is causing it. now i also have scatter, EVE, and bd armory, but that shouldnt be causing any conflicts. so, how can i solve this? i already reinstalled kerbin side, and it still does the same thing. Goddess Bhavani
Hi! I'd like to enquire if there's any interest to design and release a Lite version of KerbinSide, as the present "unified" version, while convenient, becomes a whopping 200mb folder in GameData after installation. Putting that into any existing modded install will certainly have unintended consequences so I actually ported my 40+mb KerbinSide setup from 1.0 into my present career save, and it's been smooth sailing ever since. If you're curious, my "lite" folder consists of airfields, helipads, OldKSC and not much else, creating a functional network of terrestrial airports, and a secondary rocket base at OldKSC. The reason for my suggestion is that it's not possible to 'prune' a full installation of KerbinSide as the individual models and texture packs do not come in folder format. AlphaAsh
Now available from KerbalStuff Just the assets, none of the bases. KerbinSide Core is for use as follows:You don't want the bases included in KerbinSide. You do want the static assets to make your own bases for your own personal use. You make and distribute bases using the assets in KerbinSide. You point to this as a requirement for your base pack/mod. You've been pointed to KerbinSide Core as a requirement for a base pack/mod you want to use. KerbinSide Core is NOT for use as follows:You make and distribute bases using the assets of KerbinSide. You include KerbinSide Core in your own pack/mod. You remove some of the assets in KerbinSide Core and distribute that. Please don't do this. You're violating the licence and potentially putting more than one version of the KerbinSide assets out in the wild, making my life difficult and confusing players. If this happens, I'll restrict licences and if you make and distribute bases, you won't be able to any more. If you would like a modified or pared down version of KerbinSide Core available for your base pack/mod then contact me by PMing me or posting in this thread. I'll then consider releasing a version of the Core just for you. KerbinSide Core requires Kerbal Konstructs. It's not included. You will need to go and get the latest version. I was thinking a lite pack would benefit a lot of folks who may need terrestrial destinations to travel to, plus keeping room for a major mod or two in the game folder. I will try to dig out my archives tonight to see which packs were used in my 1.0.2 install, and will make a suggestion for you to put together a Lite pack based on airports, helibases, polar stations and a couple of alternate launch sites. AlphaAsh
Is the core required for KerbinSide w/ basesNope.WARNINGIf you already have KerbinSide installed and install this over the top, all of KerbinSide's bases will be gone. You'll need to re-install KerbinSide to get them back. KerbinSide Core is for use as follows:You don't want the bases included in KerbinSide. You do want the static assets to make your own bases for your own personal use. There is a new All in 1 coming soon, which is the Core plus the bases. AlphaAsh
KerbinSide (All Of It in 1) v1.0.4 now available from KerbalStuff.Changelog:Please completely uninstall/delete any previous version of KerbinSide before updating to this version.Re-organised the mod to take advantage of the new import features of Kerbal Konstructs. The mod is now organised in to a set of core assets and a set of custom instance configs that reference those assets. This makes it a lot simpler to remove bases that you don't want.Included the latest version of Kerbal Konstructs (v0.9.3.5).KerbinSide Ground Control IS included. Do NOT re-install the current version (v0.1).KerbinSide Air-Race is NOT included. Be sure to re-install it after you've installed this version of KerbinSide. It goes on top of the new version of KerbinSide as usual. Overwrite existing files when prompted.Eskandare's Oceania is NOT included. He's busy optimising and updating it. AlphaAsh
So after a massive splurge of Kerbal Konstructs development and associated releases, I finally had some time for a proof of concept for a new way to have city lights on Kerbin visible from space.I'd say concept is proved. Olympic1
@AlphaAsh, we're having some problems with adding KerbinSide Core to CKAN.If you could join the conversation on https://github.com/KSP-CKAN/NetKAN/pull/2166Problems with KS and the core:* Some files are in both mods and are identical.* Some files are in both mods but aren't identical.* Some files are present in KerbinSide but not the core.* Some files are absent in KerbinSide but are in the core. I'll be interested to see what the transition from day to night ends up looking like. The transition will indeed be the tricky part. It's not difficult to determine when to display or not display the massive static but it is going to be tricky to make its disappearance smooth. The only code in place so far is a min visibility range for the static, as well as the usual max visibility.- - - Updated - - -@AlphaAsh, we're having some problems with adding KerbinSide Core to CKAN.If you could join the conversation on https://github.com/KSP-CKAN/NetKAN/pull/2166Problems with KS and the core:* Some files are in both mods and are identical.* Some files are in both mods but aren't identical.* Some files are present in KerbinSide but not the core.* Some files are absent in KerbinSide but are in the core.On it. Thanks for the heads-up.
Aerolfos
Quick question, anyone know sort off the top of their heads what two ground bases are closest to each other?Shipping tanks 100km across an ocean to do battle can be... interesting. I would like to try a more conventional assault too though...

ss8913
So.... long time user, first time poster. Couple small things I wanted to ask about:1. Runway numbers - answered myself by searching the forums, I understand why you don't want to add a bunch of extra textures - maybe in 1.1 with 64-bit support? 2. Runway *widths* - these runways are way way narrower than the KSC runway and, IMO as a RW pilot, too narrow for the types of craft we're building in KSP. Can they be.. widened?3. Nav guidance in Kerbal Konstructs - how do I access this? I have a terrible time finding these places. I tried the NavUtilities integration but it seemed to ignore me. Perhaps I put the config file in the wrong path (where should it go)? Thanks in advance

AlphaAsh
Re: Air RaceSo how long before we're able to follow a racing "contract" with waypoints at each of the gates? --or is this already a thing?I do want to extend the Air-Race app and integrate some contracts at some point. Have a proper little racer sub-game going on in KSP. But that's way down the list of things I have planned chap.- - - Updated - - -2. Runway *widths* - these runways are way way narrower than the KSC runway and, IMO as a RW pilot, too narrow for the types of craft we're building in KSP. Can they be.. widened?I've lost a lot of SketchUp and Unity source for the various runways but yes, greater width is something I do want to do with any future runways.3. Perhaps I put the config file in the wrong path (where should it go)?Kerbal Konstructs has you covered. In flight, open the KK Base Boss and look for NGS, ATC and Downlink toggles. Toggle the NGS on.Setting a target for the NGS can be done a couple of ways. Click the button marked NGS next to a base in the Bsse Boss, or switch to Map Mode and click on a base icon. Rehty77
AlphaAsh, do you suppose you can add a set of piers to the KSC? Because this way we can have an actual landing point for yachts and boats near the KSC!
JPurp
Are there any plans to allow the ground stations to work with RemoteTech? If so then will the ground stations be available in sandbox? Currently they are only accessible in career. Thanks.
