the door hydraulic arms have colliders too. exiting can be tricky even under ideal circumstances, especially with KSP's slippery wheels and touchy controls. maybe I'll add a secondary door for that part of the tail, though it probably won't add a much more clearance room.

for some reason, the fuel switch feature isnt working for me. i have the latest firespitter plugin, and only 1 firespitter dll, but for some reason when im switching through fuel types, they all have no fuel. the texture on the switches, and for some reason with LFO oxidizer gets added, but not liquidfuel.

that's strange. sounds like the FS module is working properly. I can only guess some other mod is changing the default fuel amounts.

would it be possible to just switch to modular fuel tanks instead of the FS module? that way we can have whatever combination of fuel sources for our airplanes.

Also I have a part request. You have a fuel tank adapter piece that is s-shaped that connects round to square. Can we have a piece the same shape that is square at both ends? I like the odd shape and want to use it more often, but having to adapt back to a square at one end can often look a bit weird. :)

As the X-31 cockpit seems to be a copy of the YF-21's from Macross Plus, I felt it was my civic duty to make this:

Had to go into the cfg file to nerf the bejesus out of the engines, cause otherwise I was doing 800m/s at sea level due to FAR. Otherwise flies nicely!

That Dart looks pretty sleek :P

Here is my first RF plane, I usually stick to space but with Kerbine side installed I needed something to explore with.

Ugly as hell but in a strange way it`s kind of attractive while flying like a rocket, without the rocket engine active :D

Have to say that this actually my best flying plane to date, both in handling, twr and high altitude in stock atmosphere.

@SmiteZero, yeah that wouldn't be hard. I'm thinking of adding mesh switch to the existing adapter so you can switch between square or round ends.

@falken, yea pretty much. if I had designed something from scratch it would have turned out similar too. the all RPM IVA is really what the exterior was built around. Now that that's done, I can do more fully enclosed command pods without having to deal with windows.

you all are building far better planes than I am haha.

why do most of the cockpits lack an IVA?

beats me. installation error most likely. All pods except med2mPodA and mkX31Pit have IVA if you don't have RPM. if you have RPM all of them should have IVA. if you installed by replacing the old version then you should delete the old folder and install new. if you already did that I need to see a clean output_log by following steps here

Getting the hang of this plane building malarky. Landings, not so much.

Nil are you going to be putting in a fuselage piece modern cockpit, or a modern cockpit that is a tiny bit sleeker than the existing one? No biggie if you aren't, I just would love a canopy with a shallower angle at the front rather than a bubble.

I've come up with this very Kerbal launch procedure which yields the desired result, however it is not really practicable for most designs... Can I just edit some texture somewhere?

if you just want to change the main Wing part, you can make a duplicate of rFpWing_DIF.png in Textures folder and edit it. then set the wing to use the new texture in the config file. e.g.

in the rFpWing.cfg, change the line to

"texture = rFpWing_DIF, RetroFuture/Textures/your new texture"

without quotes.

in PS you will have to copy/paste the initial layer into alpha channel, then duplicate the RGB layer a bunch of times to get it back to an editable state. other wise it's nearly transparent. you can just swap the dark/light sections and it should work.

you don't have to save the alpha back out, it controls the shininess of the wing board. if you want to keep the alpha, you have to make a selection using the alpha channel (which will appear as if nothing is selected) then layer-via-cut on the RGB layer. delete the mostly opaque layer. save the final layer out as transparent PNG.

Well, you are making really nice parts, so.. :P

I have to ask about another part I've never seen. Flaps! With an appropriate plugin to increase lift and drag, I've always wanted flaps and slats of various types. Trailing-edge flaps, split flaps and leading edge slats! Maybe I should be asking DYJ to add a flap mode to the standard pWing control surfaces instead..

Control surfaces are pretty much standard trailing-edge flaps.. and your airbrakes are almost split flaps.. Honestly I also really want some split surfaces that can be used as yaw control such as the B-2 has.
