raidernick
Here is a dev build for anyone who wants to test out these new changes with luna 9-10. I am looking for feedback regarding the new weights and fuel/twr values. This is NOT compatible with older versions(the folder structure and part names have changed, this only affects soviet probe parts not the r7 rocket parts) and will most likely not be compatible with v1.0. Remove old versions COMPLETELY before installing this. You have been warned as this will break any in progress flights using the old parts.NOTE: Remove old version and craft files completely before installing new version. Only the soviet probe luna 9-10 stuff has changed, the R7 rockets and other soviet probes remain unchanged.https://www./?y3fzlzg23pza8tm
raidernick
Just tested this on 0.25. Everything seems to work fine. I can't comment on reflection plugin, firespitter and km_gimbal ATM. They APPEAR to work fine but there may be unforeseen consequences in the long term. As soon as these mods are updated I'll update the zip files. On a side note all of my other mods work fine as they don't depend on plugins to work, the fire effects on the r7 rockets even got replaced automatically. onlinegamesz
Hi, are you planing to make probe landers too? I really really want to see a Vega or Venera probe so I can orbit and land on eve too! Please will you consider making it?

I really really want to see a Vega or Venera probe so I can orbit and land on eve too! Please will you consider making it?I agree it would be great to have an accurate replica of the Venera landers. In the meantime, you might want to check the "kerbalized" version of the Venera probe that Lionhead created (it's in the "Landers and probes pack")
raidernick
I have a mesh for the venera probe. I don't know when/if I'll get a chance to work on it. I wasn't planning on doing vega.

I wasn't planning on doing vega.Thats great to hear! im really looking forward to control a Venera probe.Btw my knowledge of Soviet probes is not really that good but if im not wrong the Luna can land on the mun right? If so then I will definitely download it.
raidernick
Only the luna 9 probe can land, luna 10 is a satellite, luna 2 is an impactor and luna 3 was only used to take pictures of the dark side of the moon.
Marcelo Silveira
It would be interesting if there was integration with Remote Tech plugin (I haven't tested .25 yet).So I made the config file that adds RT capability to Luna 2, 3, 9, 10 and Sputniks 1 to 3.@PART[luna2]{ !MODULE[ModuleDataTransmitter] { }MODULE { name = ModuleRTAntenna Mode0OmniRange = 200000 Mode1OmniRange = 15000000 MaxQ = 6000 EnergyCost = 0.02DeployFxModules = 0TRANSMITTER { PacketInterval = 0.4 PacketSize = 2 PacketResourceCost = 1.0 } }MODULE { name = ModuleSPUPassive }}@PART[luna3]{ !MODULE[ModuleDataTransmitter] { }MODULE { name = ModuleRTAntenna Mode0OmniRange = 200000 Mode1OmniRange = 15000000 MaxQ = 6000 EnergyCost = 0.02DeployFxModules = 0TRANSMITTER { PacketInterval = 0.4 PacketSize = 2 PacketResourceCost = 1.0 } }MODULE { name = ModuleSPUPassive }}@PART[luna9_als]{ !MODULE[ModuleDataTransmitter] { }MODULE { name = ModuleRTAntenna Mode0OmniRange = 200000 Mode1OmniRange = 15000000 MaxQ = 6000 EnergyCost = 0.01DeployFxModules = 0TRANSMITTER { PacketInterval = 0.4 PacketSize = 2 PacketResourceCost = 1.0 } }MODULE { name = ModuleSPUPassive }}@PART[luna_als]{ !MODULE[ModuleDataTransmitter] { }MODULE { name = ModuleRTAntenna Mode0OmniRange = 200000 Mode1OmniRange = 15000000 MaxQ = 6000 EnergyCost = 0.02DeployFxModules = 0TRANSMITTER { PacketInterval = 0.4 PacketSize = 2 PacketResourceCost = 1.0 } }MODULE { name = ModuleSPUPassive }}@PART[sputnik1]{ !MODULE[ModuleDataTransmitter] { }MODULE { name = ModuleRTAntenna Mode0OmniRange = 500000 Mode1OmniRange = 1500000 MaxQ = 6000 EnergyCost = 0.01DeployFxModules = 0TRANSMITTER { PacketInterval = 0.4 PacketSize = 2 PacketResourceCost = 1.0 } }MODULE { name = ModuleSPUPassive }}@PART[sputnik2]{ !MODULE[ModuleDataTransmitter] { }MODULE { name = ModuleRTAntenna Mode0OmniRange = 500000 Mode1OmniRange = 1500000 MaxQ = 6000 EnergyCost = 0.01DeployFxModules = 0TRANSMITTER { PacketInterval = 0.4 PacketSize = 2 PacketResourceCost = 1.0 } }MODULE { name = ModuleSPUPassive }}@PART[sputnik3]{ !MODULE[ModuleDataTransmitter] { }MODULE { name = ModuleRTAntenna Mode0OmniRange = 500000 Mode1OmniRange = 1500000 MaxQ = 6000 EnergyCost = 0.01DeployFxModules = 0TRANSMITTER { PacketInterval = 0.4 PacketSize = 2 PacketResourceCost = 1.0 } }MODULE { name = ModuleSPUPassive }}
NathanKell
If you change all the @PART[...] to @PART[...]:NEEDS[RemoteTech]then raidernick can include the file in the main download and it will only activate when RemoteTech is installed. raidernick
Yes if you do what nathankell said I will include it with the download. Be very careful with the rt energy usage on the probes without solar panels though. I included just enough battery for these to make it too the mun. They have to be able to get there without running out.

raidernick
Updated V0.95- Updated Luna 9-10 textures, tweaked all fuel and TWR values- Fixed Luna 9 airbag collision issue(it still starts half deployed for some reason)- Updated craft files- Added remote tech module manager config for rt2 support- THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PREVIOUS VERSIONS. FULLY REMOVE OLD VERSION BEFORE INSTALLING THIS!

Guest
I like the progress on Luna 9/10. Have you seen RoverDude's USI survivability pack? It contains functional, animated airbags. You could ask him about setting something like Luna 9 up. It could come out less buggy than the current, FS-based version.

raidernick
I redid the molniya-1 textures in preparation of the next update. The very final thing I will do before v1.0 will be polyot, so expect that next along with the new molniya textures.
Guest
It's an improvement, though the Orbiter guy got the colors wrong. I think it should be mostly white, with sliver pieces at the front, and strongly reflective radiatior:
raidernick
That picture is not of molniya-1 it is of one of the later satellites. Guest
Fair enough, it sure did look similar (though even on the top picture, it seems the panels' underside was white). It might look better if you made the radiator reflective and closer in color to the nose, but otherwise seems mostly right.
