From the dev notes...

So, "single feature". Could it be Multiplayer? Has been a while since that was started. Probably isn't, but it's a long shot.

I don't think it could be multiplayer. I'm sure they will add that in the future, but I t hink they are going to add a new solar system or a completely new game content.

I dunno, recently they said they were less interested in making new planets than in improving the old ones. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a new solar system to fly to (with a mod like KSP Interstellar, say), and I hope that's it, but I have my doubts. I'm thinking the "large goal" relates to the new administration building. Maybe it'll make the game play more like a Tycoon game or some such.

-Crew Transfer

-Enhanced Navball

Is there any word on how crew transfer is going to work? Are there a plan to do something with the concept of "connected internal spaces"? If so I will stop worrying about supporting CLS.

The devs said that the large feature has not been addressed by mods previously (EDIT: apparently mentioned by Maxmaps, though I can't find the actual ref... anyone?), so that would eliminate multiplayer. Also, the "largest 3D asset endeavor", which is quite likely part of the "big feature", won't be part of 0.25 as mentioned in the devnotes.

Since SQUAD is updating/adding plane parts in 0.25, I'm cautiously hoping for an aerodynamic overhaul in the upcoming version.

so basically 0.25 is just a Graphic Makeover

No, not really. Sounds like there will be significant gameplay additions through the Administration Building. Not to mention internal crew transfer, improved nav ball, and other miscellaneous changes.

They talked about a big project that touches everything. Sticking on the "graphics" notion, I wonder if they are adding in the ability to "record" and playback (like Il-2, for example). It would record the entire game state during the recording period for later playback with camera changes, etc.

If that is true ...

New atmospheric model ? No, we have FAR, NEAR ...

Multiplayer? No, we have KMP, Dark Multiplayer ...

New planet systems ( or planets ) ? No, we have Kerbal Universe 2

New skins on planets? We have EVE and some others ...

To be honest I only can think on two possiblities ( suposing that the above is true ): either they dug out the resources system they half thought about some versions ago ( because neither Kethane or Karbonite do things like they intended to do ) or there will be a major revamp to the contracts/science system beyond rebalancing the costs and science of them. The second seems most likely :( ( I would definitely prefer the resources system )

I would like to have some other planetary systems in the game. Because traveling to eeloo or jool is kinda short. Then interstellar ships would get a sense ;-) But I don't think this is coming with 0.25 :-/

Will they do it? I think, and I may be wrong, that I read somewhere that they want to stick to propulsion technology that either exists or may exist in the near future. A interstellar ship requires far more speculative technologies.

Not really, because kerbals are immortal barring impact at high speeds and SQUAD wants to keep them that way ( thus no need for life support, cryogenics/ suspended animation or relativistic speeds ). The current propulsion techs in KSP are more than enough to acheive stellar escape velocity ( like ours in RL, otherwise there would be no Pioneer 10 and 11 or the two Voyager ), so you could already make a interstellar trip in current version if only you had some other star in game ... and a LOT of patience. Returns ... well, that would be a issue :D

A third possibility is post-0.25 implementation of enhanced/interactive IVAs, which would take a lot of 3D modeling, has not been addressed in any mod before, is in agreement with the "Kerbal transfer without EVA" statement by Samsonnart and is part of the planned KSP features under Flight Control.

Or not... please bear in mind that I'm wearing my tinfoil space hat during this highly speculative brainstorm session.

Yeah, that actually looks sensible. If you are going to add crew tranfer between parts ( with probably some new parts that can have kerbals inside besides the current ones ), you will definitely need some new IVA 3D models. More, even considering the SP+ parts, there is need for some cockpit IVA for some parts ( both of stock and of SP+ ) that have placeholder IVA models.

Maybe EVA in IVA? Well, enhanced IVA. So you can move around in ships? Think - Can transfer without EVA. That makes my theory kinda supported

Model and textures look awesome, more crisp and defined. (when they get this shading into KSP it would be a big step forward, but at the moment, we should take this as a rendering, probably even a viewport rendering...) ! And with helipad for the very important kerbals... :)

Hmmmm, now you've mentioned it...

The cockpit IVA's could all do with work, some don't even exist, but would be very cool to have (I'm looking at you, MPL!)

Lots of people moan about just the Mk.2 cockpit...

BUT... I'm pretty sure that there are mods out there that add IVA detail, but not to the extent SQUAD could/want to... So this is gonna be high on my list of hopes for .25 :)

ah,i wanted a big highrise that i could crash the new plane parts in to :(

oh well

i personaly want to have some more things near space center,maybe like a supliedepo with a trainline ending in a tunnel at the mountainrange

and some trains moving on that line

That would be fun to bomb from orbit :cool:
