In other words, if it doesn't work he considers that a simulation and tries again. At least, that's what I mean when I say I'm "running a simulation" in quotes :)

I use KER and think it should be stock. However, I *could* eyeball at least a Gilly lander and return vehicle (I have done it) and I'm sure with a few tries I could get to any planet and back. Kashua is in the same boat only he has more experience doing it without KER's numbers than I do so where it'd take me a few tries he could have a good shot of doing it in one.

It's option 1. He did Jool-5 in a spaceplane, for just one of many examples. I know he plays pure stock and I always assumed he was using an external tool for calculating delta-V, it is even more impressive to hear that he generally doesn't calculate it at all.

Sorry but that's just your unfounded assumption. I don't play that way.

Of course there's no way I can prove it except by giving you my word on it.

Regarding the Jool-5 Spaceplane mission, I did use quicksaves/quickloads on it. Not many, but I definitely needed them for Tylo landing. I am not that good. There's difference between doing possible but crazy stuff and running a safe and sound space program in Career.

Technically though, you could say that their votes are reflecting what they think it will be. I mean, I think it's going to be SPP now, and that Squad isn't going to troll us and actually switch to another one at the very last second or something.

Of course, i voted banana too... but the small one in a canister!!! NOT the big structural one! It will just turn this game into a joke that i considered it to be for a long time ._.

OK, so Kasuha is the real deal. I apologize. But I still prefer to squeeze out the handling deficiencies on my test flights instead of trying to out how much delta v my rocket has (or can it lift from the launchpad at all in the first place). Iterative design trough explosions just to reach orbit was fun way back when, I'm out of that phase, it does not push my buttons any more.
