1) Kerbals are immortal. They respawn.

2) Kerbals don't need air or food.

3) Kerbals are in infinite supply (astronaut complex).

4) Kerbals have an unlimited supply of boosters (sandbox).

5) Kerbals. 'Nuff said.

1) There's an endless horde of Grox as well.

2) No, they need their suits.

3) No they aren't, odds are the astronaut complex would get destroy in the initial attack.

4) Not going to save them in combat.

5 Grox. 'Nuff said.

Well, if we put the Grox on the Kerbal universe, Kerbals would win, Spore phyisics imply that spacecraft behave like planes, in KSP they don't, and odds are they won't know how to manipulate spaceships on this universe. Also Spore planets are ridiculously small, minmus or gilly-sized, Grox would be the size of ants for Kerbals :D

Now, if we put Kerbals on the Spore universe, odds are the Grox will win, they have much superior crafts with much advanced weaponry, but Kerbals have SRB-powered rockets with Radio-Isotope Thermo-Electric Generators strapped with duct tape on the tip, and implying missiles ALSO behave like planes, then it would be really easy to get a shot. But, Grox may destroy these really easly. Kerbals also have the disadvantage of having to use chemical rockets wich are really inefficient, Grox have that "cheaty warp drive" thingy. So yea, no idea on this one :/

Edit: But on top of that, Kerbals have infinite resources and instantaneous craft construction, they could basically spam unmanned "fighters" and launch them on top a huge launcher lol

Eh, I know it's extremely unlikely for the Grox, but I like to think they would partner up...

The Grox have superior firepower, but they would take a good look at the Kerbals and their ingenuity.. I mean, the Kerbals can build huge monstrosities, I've seen space stations that would be close to the size of a Spore's moon...

But then, the Grox are very single-minded...

Aaaaaaaaand, also... long time I played Spore, but for all the in-game lore, the Grox are more of an annoying race that every now and then comes to have their ships destroyed than an actual threat...

Is it impossible that the Grox ships function like that?

If they do then the kerbals are screwed.

It is possible that the Grox ships could fly normally, but the Groc would most likely not know how to fly the things, expecting them to still fly like in their universe. Either way, the Kerbals have an infinite supply of LV-Ns, so they could probably build a massive nuclear weapon out of a cluster of LV-Ns and launch it into the Grox Fleet.

I don't think that carries over to the canon Career Mode which has limited funds for the Kerbals.

Because this is the KSP Forum and people behave like fanatics. Basically.

actually the kerbals would win.due to the fact they can build things that would counteract the grox and there weapons.

if you have a smart builder though. basically your saying the player vs the grox.

Kerbals can ram planet buster sticks into planets and planet buster sticks only cost a couple 100 funds, while Grox planet busters cost 5 Million funds, basicly kerbals can spam planet busters.

To see what I mean skip to 1'40 of this video.

I think its because kerbals are creative and fun guys, while the grox are total douchebags that infuriate you every 5 minutes in the game, invading your homeworld when you're in the other side of the galaxy.

who would win? the Krogans.

THINGS THAT ARE PROVEN:

1. The Grox do have Planet Busters in possession (You need Colonist 5 or Conquerer 5 badge to unlock It and the Grox have more than those requirements for either badge)

2. The Grox also have a weapon up they're sleves... as seen in Spore: Galactic Adventures there is an Adventure at the beginning of the Space Stage If you got the Warrior Archetype: http://spore.wikia.com/wiki/Infestation in this Adventure you must stop a Civilization from being destroyed with a Grox weapon this said weapon puts toxic gases and Genetically Engineered Soldiers (The Dronox and Insectrox) in order to wipe out all life and let Grox settle there.

3. It is hard but not Impossible for the Kerbals to win.... If they had like 800 ships. Basically Kerbals vs. The Grox would be Like you with 1-2 cities vs Computer Ghandi and CPU Ghandi had taken over every city except that 1 you had in Civ V.

Time to overanalyze.

The craft in Spore travel interstellar distances at about two parsecs a second: roughly seven light-years per second. it takes roughly three seconds of in-game time to destroy a planet with Planet Buster. Assuming that the spacecraft travel at nearly the speed of light when going interstellar, the "real-time" duration of an interstellar trip is seven years or so. Thus, a Planet Buster would take (7x3/2) years to destroy the planet: about ten and a half years. You could probably get every single Kerbal off of the planet in this time, provided that your rockets were high-capacity and that there were many of them.

HOWEVER:

Once the ships were in space, they would lack the acceleration or the weaponry of ships in SPORE. Furthermore, they wouldn't take damage as well, because the damage system in SPORE allows for a lot more of a pummeling. The ships would be sitting ducks for the Grox. The only hope for Kerbal civilization would be that the Grox's artificial intelligence, as programmed in-game, would tell it to leave. This is certainly a possibility, because in SPORE, ships that survived their planet's explosion generally become "Pirate" ships, and the Grox don't seem to mind that class of ships (I think).

The Kerbals would have a difficult go of it, but they would survive. They really couldn't offer up any resistance, though.

I really, really hope that no one tries to do a more detailed analysis than this.

Well first thing's first... In SPORE You must destroy an Entire Empire in order for those ships to go "Pirate" not just they're home planet.... So say that you colonized the Mun or Laythe, They'd need to bust or conquer them.

Fun fact: In Spore If you use the Planet Buster on a Planet with a Moon the moon will go down with It... Which Makes no sense But OK Maxis!

Second, If you were like me and decided It was a genius idea to use Raider Rally on the Grox. http://spore.wikia.com/wiki/Raider_Rally The Grox kill the Pirates that teleport with the Wormhole.

So yeah the Kerbals would be (Mostly) Screwed.

Assuming the Kerbals have kinetic weaponry (Which to my knowledge is the best weaponry. Kill your enemy with a giant shipping container that took 7 years to hit you. Add insult to injuries).

So on the tactics field the best thing the Kerbals have going for them is the borderline infinite supply of Kerbals and flexibility of Kerbal ships thanks to the non-existence of the Kraken. Combat vs. The Grox would rely entirely on a battle of attrition, which the Grox could easily win thanks to their endless supply of ships and powerful weaponry. The player can't get every Kerbal out of range of the Grox before the entire armada of Grox fleets are on top of them. This is assuming that Kerbal fighters and ships can fight on their own with sufficient weaponry.

The best thing the Kerbals can do on a tactical level is mobilize fleets. And any calculation would assume that no reinforcements come and that the Grox are equally as powerful as the ships combating them. Neither of these are particularly true however. And the best way to win any war against the Grox would be to manufacture ships with express purposes that need to be fulfilled if the fleet is to survive. The Kerbals can only barely manage fleet tactics, and they wouldn't be able to do enough of this AND handle evacuations and training of the pilots and crew for these express purposes within ten years. And even if they could they still have to put entire fleets into orbit while under fire from the Grox, and any land battle would be lost.

Assuming they get this far they would still have to battle the Grox, while evacuations are occurring and while ships are being constructed. But let's assume that the Grox left the planet alone until the fleet was in orbit. Combat would still see the Kerbals screwed, every Grox ship could easily kill every Kerbal ship, even if they could defend themselves.

The Kerbals would be screwed, but the Grox would still lose. You know why?

Because a trans-dimensional rift would open and Sgt. Burden from Gods Will Be Watching would kick both of their asses.

The End.
