I've seen a couple of requests for 2.5m stock-alike Proton, so I've made a first stage fuel tank, a new project called "Ignis". Textures will be improved, I promise!

Interesting this stockalike design for your mini-shuttle. It's the first time i see that, and i can say that it fits well to the stock parts :) The integration ingame looks better than other mini-shuttles.

Thanks! It will fit better after I fix the CoM issue. Next update will be save-breaking because of this.

Stockalike proton. Exactly what we need. Such a great heavy launch stage.

EDIT: I do have to admit though. It has problems with symmetry.

Well, there is two way to fix it: make radial tanks or to make tank and engine a single part. As the second will limit the functionality of the part, I will choose the first variant. Wait for the update in a couple of hours. Also, engine coming SoonTM

If you haven't yet, could you test this with Deadly Re-entry please?
Indeed, I was wondering what compatibility this had with Deadly Reentry.

I think I will make DRE config this weekend.

It will be a first stage engine, but I had a couple of ideas about stockalike Block DM.

Thanks! It was a thing I really needed for a long time. And if you will carry on with the development of launchers, I hope it will move to your launchers pack after a couple of fixes (those toroidal meshes make KSP a bit sick, so I have to optimize the mesh for better CPU/GPU performance).

I just played around with the Aeria shuttle a little bit and I love it! It is a bit finicky to control, but that's just going to be the case with small aerodynamic vehicles and, in my opinion, a little bit of challenge to the flying skills isn't a bad thing! I don't want the shuttle to just land itself!

To the question of landing gear - because COM and COL are so important, and there are so few ways to control them in a small, low parts count model - if you do add any landing gear you probably need to make sure that it has zero mass and drag. Justify it by saying that the design was tuned to cancel out their effect, if you need to, but hanging weight and drag on one side of such a small ship is going to lead to control issues.

I'd assume the best way to make a skid is to just make landing gear with an invisible wheel. You'd still use a wheel collider for ground contact, and you could still use the suspension features to add shock absorption to the skid. I've barely got my first set of wheels working, so I'm certainly not an expert, but if you start playing with it and hit a roadblock, I'll happily volunteer anything I've learned to help!
