This from the new Support and Bugs archive :

This forum is read-only, for people who want to retrieve their threads. The forum will be permanently moved to the dungeons and become inaccessible August 31st.

Does this mean that after aug. 31st that we will no longer be able to view these threads? There are still relevant issues in there.

So is General Addon Affairs a catchall for things now? The addon support forum was also a Request forum, and I had an active thread in there asking for people to contribute logos.

Does ANY discussion for mod support go in the modder install forum, even if its about getting mods working together rather than KSP-specific help?

Right now its not making a lot of sense.

Support for modded installs go to the new forum. The rest goes to general addon affairs. Requests, intermod compatibility, everything. This way we have a dedicated support forum for mods.

Correct you about what? You haven't given any reasons for your concern.

To just up and practically delete every bug post that has been made the past few years seems drastic. Are the forums running out of room or something? I mean, what is the reason for this?

They won't be deleted, it's just that regular forum members won't be able to access them any longer. It's done because sifting through the threads and adapting them to the new system would be a mammoth task that's frankly not worth the trouble. Bug reports are usually copied or posted to the Bug Tracker if they're relevant. Clicky link, although for obvious reasons there are many sections of the bug tracker that are again not public (mainly so that we don't get 100 reports of a single bug, or bugs that are related to mod usage).

The reason for the change is that we noticed people were really looking for support with their modded installs in a way that the Add-on requests and support forum didn't quite cover. Furthermore people had a hard time figuring out where to post issues in a modded install. I believe this is a major improvement for anyone who uses add-ons in their game and needs help with it :)

Again, the bug reports won't be removed, just hidden from public view because of practical reasons. The bug tracker also exists for a good reason. On a personal note please don't go and assume the worst in every change, it isn't exactly a nice start to my day when the other moderators and I work hard to improve the forum and the first thing I see anyone say about it is 'it looks EA-bad'. A question is better than a statement in that case.

P.S.

On request the old forums will stay available a week longer, until Sept. 7th.

Thank you for taking the time to explain. I apologize if my post makes for a bad start to you day, KasperVid. I realize that dealing with people like me on a daily basis must be difficult at best. I can sympathize. I deal with John Q. Public on a daily basis also. One thing I have learned is it takes infinite patience, however, that's easier said than done. I said it smells EA bad, not looks, if that makes a difference. There are many folks here that care what happens to this game. Folks like me that have put effort into trying to make it better. To see that work wiped out with the click of a mouse, and with practically that speed, with little or no discussion, is alarming, and reeks of something EA would do in order to save public face. That's why I said what I did. Once again, thanks for the reply. And I hope the changes work out for you.

The old forums are up and read-only so that you can grab the information from them and re-post them in the new forums with the new formats, or move old requests to General Add-on Affairs.

I said it smells EA bad, not looks, if that makes a difference.

That depends whether your eyesight is better than your sense of smell.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
