You're just showing how childish you are.

You have 255 posts after the forum doomsday why you should be more than aware that asking ETAs in this forum is totally taboo.

Well I am working with the older version 2.0 the one with the bay doors that open, has the Eva, and such. But the main problem i am having is not with flight, but rather launch. I have sent 4 fuel tank SRB units into orbit alone. Usually when I launch the two separate, the SRB pack passes me up, and I still Get to orbit. Lol, it's funny to watch. Rocket2Guns version. That's what it is. If I can get the Srbs to stay attached, then I will have a working STS orbiter.

What the heck are you trying to prove here? Are you trying to compete? Than you chose the wrong game and forum. These are FREE addons, made in their FREE time by volounteers. They are not paid for this. Thus there is no competition here.

It's a rule on EVERY modding forum, for every game, all arround the internet, that asking for ETA is punnishable. If it wasn't an official game forum but a webside deticated to modding only, you could be banned for this.

Cepheus answered you ("Soonish") and than asked you to stop asking.

New forum member here and new-ish Kerbal player (only a month old :) ), but will this shuttle work in version 0.20.2.186? I ask because I tried one version (CSS Space Shuttle v 4.0.0) and it looked like the texturing wasn't right (it was covered in grainy lines). I dont know to much about modding games, but Kerbal is strait forward (and my brother is a closet coder, so he helps me out). I am running a few mods already (about 8-10 and 99% of them came from the space port), so I dont know if any of them are interfering with the CSS mod.

Please kick me in the direction if this has already been answered/fixed. I apologize if I'm bringing up an old topic, but I am new to this forum and new to KSP.

Well I have managed to get a successful launch with SRB and tank, there is a catch. You mustn't use mechjeb for launch, mechjeb applies equal thrust and the Srbs push more in heavier air. So launch must me manual. It's interesting, at a certain altitude YOU MUST GO WITH THROTTLEUP, or start tumbling. Lol, realism? Yes, crazy chaos? Definatly. Now as for landing? Unknown. I fly by key. Lol.

Oh I enjoy the mechjeb to, but this thing has all the aerodynamics of a lead bar. But with thrust and enough of it, it goes up, then at a different altitude, you must jettison the SRB/ tank or start tumbling. Eventually orbit can be achieved. Now as I stated for landing? I dunno, maybe chutes? Lotsa them? Lol.

Ok, I tip my hat to bobcat. Just tried the Soviet Buran, AWESOME. We should let bobcat design the STS American shuttle. Try the Buran, it's freaking awesome.

UPDATE, ok, Soviet Union Rockets just rock. They just plain rock. why didn't they win the space race? Am trying all the USSR rockets,

Yeah the Buran is absolutely perfect.. robotic arm, lift capacity, you name it. Bobcat is working on his American Pack, so he may well eventually get around to the STS. I think the biggest issue with the STS is the external tank throwing off the balance. The Buran has engines mounted on the tank, so there is no problem, but the STS does not, relying on heavy gimbal to maintain alignment. Problem is, KSP engines won't gimbal that much, as least that was true last time I checked.

There's a plugin I can't remember that let the game gimbal the engines more.

I wouldn't mind it so much if it were changable,/optional.

It is optional. As a matter of fact, I find that it launches better without it, however, you need to study the actual shuttle missions and more specifically the launch sequence. This model closely mimics the style. You ignite the primary engines, wait a few seconds then light the Srbs, at or around 24000 you start the roll over, and watch the SRB fuel, when it hits 98% burned, e shuttle will start to flip, jettison the Srbs, and "go with throttle up" you usually use up the fuel tank by 55000 so jettison it, and switch to the OMS. Then stabilize your orbit, and your good to go. Now I have tried landing it, but a pilot i am not. I can get it down, but never on the runway. Trying to figure that out.

Well I have completed the launch parameters of the shuttle, and it works fine.

Success, the launching sequence works fine.

1..main engine ignition,

2..(action group 10) SRB ignition and clamp release,

3..press t to control roll. (optional if using mechjeb it's automatic)

4..1700 up, roll to port 45degrees.

5..98% expended SRB fuel, press space to jettison Srbs. Vehicle will throttle up.

6..34000 main fuel expended, wait for power down, press space to jettison tank.

7.. Kill main engines, switch to orbital maneuvering engines.

8.. Standardize orbit, circular orbit below 200k

And viola your in orbit.

Now as for landing? Dunno, I'm not a pilot.

Before I release it you all should know, I didn't make this vehicle, Rocket2guns made the model, a while ago, all I have done is make it flyable, well launchable, I need to test the flight in atmosphere capabilities. Yes you can add a stock dock-o-tron to it, the Buran arm, lights, cargo, etc.

Current only known issue is the wheels don't "roll" and there are no original DAE files. I think I can make them slide on landing without tearing them off. Unless someone can model a set of wheels that roll.
