Its working in 1.0.2.. I've tested it in sandbox mode.

It would have made a great big solar array, by the way. I'm wondering if i could modify the cfg to make it into one.

Hmmmm ... I'm giving it a try.

I'll like a copy if you get it working.... another idea would be to make it a massive solar shield... so your missions could get closer to the sun without overheating..

like in the movie sunshine..

You only need to remove the ModuleScienceExperiment module to change it into a sunblocker. To make it into a solar array proves to be more of a challenge. I'm not having any succes so far.

I've updated the mod for 1.02 - I had to adjust the attachment points slightly.

If you want to use it as a solar array, you can possibly look at the stock solar array part.cfg files as a start - but I'm not sure if you can get it all the way without touching the animation code to hook it up with how KSP manages the on/off states for the arrays.

If you check with zzz, he offers all his models as public domain and I'm sure he'd give you the original code for the model to modify if you ask. He checks his KSP forum inbox infrequently, so you may have to wait a little bit.

I did start with the stock solar array part.cfg's but i soon found out that it couldn't be done that way. I will contact zzz and see if he can help me with it.

And thanks for the update!

You are welcome! :) And let me know how the solar array comes along - that sounds like an excellent idea for this model. I could totally see a couple of those as a giant solar farm on the Mun!

Hey, I realy like this mod telescope but i ran in some proplems.

- Extract the "experement" data form the RAT isnt possble, (a kerbal extracting the science?). is this not inplemented? if not, will it? if yes, how close do you have to be?

Huh. Let me test that... It's been very busy around here and I'll be out of town for a few days, so I won't be able to do anything about this until next week some time.

I wonder, Why did you give it a ModuleReactionWheel module?

From a previous comment on the same issue: (I should make this a FAQ! :) )

I'm using the built-in reaction wheel with extra power draw as the "ON" setting for the radio telescope. As in, when you want to operate the telescope, turn on the built in reaction wheel to simulate a large telescope's power draw. That way I didn't have to write any additional plug-in code.

So during transportation or when the telescope is not in operation, it's safe to turn off the built-in reaction wheel. It does actually provide nearly no stability, it just sucks down power like there is no tomorrow. :-)

You use it make it consume power? But how is it connected to the experiment? Why don't you use a specialised science experiment module that consumes Power, produces science data which can be transmitted when full like the one found in Standford Torus. Just put the Dll in your mod, configure the experiment and it should work. Just look how it is implemented for the Particle Accelerator experiment.

That's interesting. I know there's other ways to do this, but I'm new to modding. :) I'll take a look at how the Stanford Torus does it and maybe I can make that work with the telescope. Thanks!
