Is it Sandbox or Career Mode?

Have you ever seen a really big accomplish made by someone and often wondered is this the Sandbox Mode or did this Kerbonaut meet the challenges of the Program and earn this Trophy he's waving?

My suggestion would be to give all items in Sandbox Mode a distinguished marking to implicate this, if this is not in the makings all ready and this would be a good idea please add your ideas on what this distinguished mark could look like, my idea would be a colored stripe or stripes maybe Orange or Yellow.

First, doing this will just shift the question to "did that person just change the textures to look like career textures?"

Second, career mode really isn't hard for anybody who can do all those things you're worried that they did in sandbox instead of career. If you can legit land and return from Eve, or complete the Jool 5 challenge, or something like that, spamming science really isn't going to be a problem for you.

I'd react negatively to something like that on a visceral level, and that's a good enough reason to not do it.

Definitely opposed to that. Like 5thHorseman said, if you can do something impressive in sandbox, then you can get enough done in career to eventually do it there. You can max out science and load up on funds without even leaving Kerbin's SOI. I really don't think it matters if someone does something on career or sandbox. Now mods, that's a different story, but it should still just be an honor system. Don't claim you did something stock if you're using MechJeb.

It's more a dumb concern over forum bragging rights regarding screenshots. 5thHorseman put it best: there's really no difference between doing something in career mode or sandbox once you're past a certain point in career. At least, every time I've tried out career mode I've never had problems launching exactly what I wanted...

I mean, if you really want to argue over bragging rights, I suggest that anyone who isn't playing with the whole Realism Overhaul suite is playing "easy mode". E: And even then, RO isn't all that hard to begin with once you know what you're doing.

Career mode right now is unbalanced, as Squad readily admits (they have other fish to fry). That's neither here nor there.

It's not about bragging it's about seeing someone's work and being impressed by it, with Career Mode it let's you see what a person accomplished that's all, and the work speaks for itself. The Sandbox on the other hand would show that you never earn it was given to you and this is not distinguished. I am impressed with a lot of others work on Kerbal but knowing the Sandbox is there makes their work less impressive to me. Overall this is just a preference of mine and not a necessary Add-on, that was the reason for this thread, it was for discussion to see if it would be a nice Add-on.

Well judging by everyone's reactions it's not a "nice addon". Nobody should care what you think of how they play and if you think they should you are playing the wrong game. I think it's best you drop the issue as it's never going to go anywhere.

But you would also have to stop or ID that someone has editted there save file to know and don't think that would fly so really how do you know ? And really what does it matter it's a game to have fun but yes everyone has there thing.
