Game Informer and Maxmaps take a look at 0.25

What was this key binding from 2 minute about?

Turns off surface attachment in the VAB/SPH while held. This means that you can more easily attach cargo to the nodes within a cargo bay, as well as deal with some other annoyances while placing parts.

Really wish they'd add in more symmetry angles (especially 1° and 5°) and multiples as well (7, 5, and on up), but this is pretty important.

Agreed, the disable symmetry option was essential for cargo bays. It also opens up different construction techniques as well. I'm wondering if they'll ever add in the ability to toggle between the VAB and SPH symmetry styles?

Do you think with the repairing of buildings that in the future we will be able to rebuild the other space centre and island runway

That's my guess for the "future big features". Construction, either with complete freedom of location or at a collection of fixed sites. Hopefully even off-world; shifting the construction materials for a Duna KSC may finally give the mega-lifters some practical use.

Make the Kerbinside/OffWorldLaunchpads/etc mods obsolete.

I'm now planning my 0.25 Career in HardMode :) But what makes me wonder: If quickloading is deactivated, do you have absolutely no way to go back? That could be kinda bad if the game crashes or you encounter a kraken attack, because that could destroy your hole save then, wouldn't it?

In the video the old shuttle cockpit was shown in the partstab. Havn't seen the Mk. 3 parts the intern Hugo was making. Don't forget those parts Squad!!!

Last I heard, and I can't remember where, it was mentioned the Mark 3 parts weren't entirely satisfactory yet. Either we'll see them in 0.26 or they'll be patched in somewhere between. (but assume 0.26 unless told otherwise by qualified personnel)

Yeah, the video quality was quite lacking, wasn't it? Tried HD as well, but that didn't improve much.

Are you still trying to hide stuff while revealing it, or is this an error by Game Informer?

EDIT: Something hilarious I noticed: Game Informer's deal with GameStop is apparently so aggressive, they're trying to claim you can buy KSP via GameStop.

(I know... it's just a silly design feature that hasn't caught up with early access and kickstarter yet, but still!)

I can't see a feature like you suggest making KerbinSide obsolete. If anything, such a feature would just give it even more functionality and purpose. I'll happily bet Squad can't deliver the same breadth of content KerbinSide does for such a feature. Unless they 'disable' Kerbal Konstruct's/KerbTown's ability to add statics.

Why can't they load that video on YouTube already? Or may be there is a working link somewhere that I don't see?

I hope they will, I cannot open the Game Informer website. Only through proxy but still i cannot see the video.

Looks like a pretty awesome update to me. Several community suggestions were added too!

Well, I assume the big plans are in the vein of the system they use to destroy buildings (or at least that was what they've been hinting at). I'm not sure what more they could do with destructible buildings, per se, though I suppose one never knows.

Please, next time try to put your videos in YouTube, along with whatever place you put them. That video quality was bad, and also lots of stream issues.

I would expect them to (probably after Squadcast today at the latest). I'm guessing they want to give some media outlets "exclusives" for the day or something *shrugs*

IIRC Mk. 3 parts aren't coming in this update, but will be coming in the next one. I think we're getting the new Mk. 2 parts and updated Mk. 1 parts if memory serves this time.

Well, they do plan a big 3d assets project for 0.26 right (devnote hints)? Seems logical to me to implement that asset then too, even more so if its IVA. For now SP+ looks good, and i start to like destructible buildings more and more, who know, if i would dream, maybe colonization modules not based on "parts" but on buildings, you just bring materials there and they get build "in situ".

It's not the destructable part, it's the CONstructable part. The feature seems to be building construction away from the space center, suggesting Kolonization on other worlds, or populating Kerbin finally.

Turned surface attachment on with ALT. Ok, squad, you have me right there. BEST FEATURE IN THE WHOLE FREAKING UPDATE!!!

The hint about a KSC management mechanic with destructing, constructing and, I expect, upgrading of said buildings, will also be cool and all, but that little detail will give a ton of building options to the people that don't use Ed Tools. Bravo!

Rune. Hype levels back to "absurd" now.

The feature I'd really like them to pinch from Editor Extensions is a hotbutton toggle for part-clipping. I never use clipping except to overcome symmetry bugs, but I use it for that extremely regularly; alt-Z with Ed Extensions saves a large amount of irritation.

Update is looking good on the whole, but am I the only one disappointed with the NavBall update? To me it looks like it's a cut-down version of the Enhanced NavBall - so why not do it properly if someone sat down to rework it anyway?

Guess there's one mod I won't be uninstalling just yet after all..
