.25 Easter Egg Hunt

The Jedi Master

Recommended Posts

I concur on the Island Airfield - I just visited it earlier and it hasn't changed since the last version (although I did forget to check whether it was destructible. I presume not).

The KSC Flag Pole is destructible, but oddly enough not using Whack-a-Kerbal. I had to drive up to it in a tank and launch a cluster of nine Kerbodyne boosters in order to take it down, making it apparently the most durable building at KSC.

It is possible to climb the KSC control tower - if you knock it down first ;P

This may not be a real "Easter egg" but Whack-a-Kerbal works in the Space Center scene (admittedly I never tried to open it there in 0.24.2, so correct me if this isn't as new as I thought).

Flag pole will destruct with very little force, I managed to get the VAB down after 6 tries using a big-red on wheels with a factor-3 engine to accelerate it. Its not so easy to blow up.

Hint about flag pole, the materials and goo science maybe difficult to extract.

The flagpole definitely can be destroyed with Whack-a-Kerbal, it's very hard to hit it. Try to bring sliders all the way right, and aim at its foundation, not the pole itself.

What IS indestructible, though, is the rails between VAB and launchpad, and launchpad pipes.

I think you are talking about the reflecting pool close to Admin building

No, I meant that the big Flag Pole behind the Astronaut Complex is also a biome, and indeed it does not have water samples, but if you can jump up onto the pole's base you can get a "Sample from Flag Pole".

Or if you meant the "water tank thing" I mean the big metal sphere next to the Mk1 Memorial. In 0.24 there was nothing there and the sidewalk just ended abruptly.

1) Yes, you can take down the flag pole with Whack-a-Kerbal, though you have to aim for the base and it often takes several tries.

2) Yep! It actually can be opened on every screen in the game now. Including the initial loading screen, the start screen, and the VAB and SPH (though they don't do anything except make it look like you're pressing buttons when moused over.)

There are now several small sheds by the R&D building that fall under the terrain, leaving no trace, when bombed. This also destroys a nearby section of R&D property. The same is true with many vehicles. This isn't really an Easter egg, but it's just a fun thing to see, if you're looking for it.

I hereby vote that the KSP Forum community officially deems the indestructible Astronaut Training Center loo the "Immortal Space Toilet!" If enough people second this, I may make a separate polling thread. :)

I never got to visit the magic bolder *sigh* However, I dont know if this has been noted before seeing as a finally did a maned mission to Ike and Duna (Ive been playing since 0.16), But one of the science experiments says " you look up at the sky and see somthing whiz past" or along those lines

That message has been there since .22, it doesn't mean anything.

Best way to find the mic boulder would be to write a mod to find it for us. I really don't want to stare at the sky without even being sure of it's existence (and it most likely was not re-added). Also, that's how it was originally found in the first place.

The search for the Magic Boulder was my favorite thing that has ever happened on these forums. I remmember we were searching for the thing for over ONE MONTH. Some person built a quick plugin that used a little laser pointing to it. This kinda made NovaSilisko a bit sad. If the magic boulder, or any other easter eggs are back, they are either extremely well hidden or do not exist.

Yep, that's what I meant by a mod to find it.

But you are probably right, it would be better hidden this time. Has anyone at least tried loading a quick-save of a ship next to the boulder in .25? (Though, it could have moved)

I love how THAT, out of everything, is on the wiki, yet no proof is provided by the editor, and people watching over the page don't seem to care. They also think that the (0,0) pyramid on Gilly is an easter egg, which is preposterous. Vall has the same exact thing, except on every 90 degree mark (0, 90, 180, 270)! Plus, that kind of pyramid is observable on ANY BODY. Every body has terrain somewhere (usually all over, just land near the edge of a crater on the Mun. Crater edges have the same exactly "pryamid-like" structures!) like Gilly's (0,0) pyramid!

EDIT: The most likely explanation for these pyramids is the way terrain generates. It can only split into smaller subsections up to a point, defined by the terrain detail setting.

  • 4 weeks later...

I found a rather creepy easter egg just now when I started KSP. At the start screen, instead of the normal Kerbal looking at you (without a sand castle), there is one kerbal facing to the right. He is not wearing any helmet.

Then, when you press Start Game, it scrolls over to the wrecked ship. Now there are several kerbals without helmets on, all looking at the ship.

While scrolling, a kerbal's face flashes past. It's looking right at the camera, smiling, without a helmet. Spooky.

I tried and tried to get a better screenshot, but I didn't want to spend any more time.

GUYS I FOUND ONE!!!!

IF YOU ARE IN THE SPH and you plug in a charger, the lights on the sides of the building will blink!!!

I am not sure if this is an easter egg but I think it is!!!

Don't they just flicker on their own?

And what's a charger?
