Need help installing Civ 5

Hi, I just bought Civ 5 but I am having trouble installing it. I bought the disk version of it (because I hate Steam and didn't wan't to waste my time with it). So I put the disk in and run setup, and it started installing Steam...

Well that's done but what now, there are no other options on the disk and if I click setup it will try to install Steam again.

Kind of stuck and not sure what to do, help would be appreciated.

You need to make a steam account and enter the CD key from the steam client i believe. I think steam is the only way to play it.

As Airbornem4 said.

Civ V is a Steam game ... therefore you won´t get around making a Steam account and installing the Steam client, if you want to play Civ V, even if you bought a physical version of the game

Portal 2 was made by Valve, who created Steam. They also made Counterstrike, Half-Life and DotA. CiV was not made by Steam/Valve, but still needs to be activated by it. Convenient DRM I guess.

Less DRM and more the fact that steam is a convenient platform for multiplayer and such.

Not to forget that it is also extremly convenient (for the developers and users) with regards to the release of updates and DLC
