Just use CKAN. I first install RSS, then RO with all dependences and remember the textures of RSS... the OP have all the info. Good Luck!.

I use only CKAN. Tryed twice and all the same - no clouds, no atmosphere =/ Strange, when i use this mod before (KSP 0.9 or so) atmosphere was ok, but no Jup.rings and some Venus text.bugs, but now its just atmosphere problem. Stil waiting for advices and thanks anyway for respond.

Curious: So the "flames and whooshy noises appearing too soon" issue has to do with some internal subsystem of KSP not interacting correctly with how heat flow works in RO? Is this something that can eventually be fixed or is it a "we're dependent on stock behavior and it's unfixable" type of deal?

Clouds are broken until EVE gets updated, but there should at least be basic KSP atmosphere. Is it completely gone? Do you have screenshots?

There is also future promise in how Solar Sail Navigator may spin off a general purpose long-burn navigation system.

That surely sounds interesting and of course useful. I'll keep track of that, thank you for the hint! :)

I was planning to try using PersistentRotation (also provides a simple on-rails autopilot) together with IonWarp. This should be useful, especially when attempting to use electric engines in LEO, i hope those two mods work fine together. Unfortunately i don't have much time (to build up a RO intall and actually play it) until sunday. This should be a great opportunity to try out CKAN, hopefully it saves me some time. Or maybe it wastes time because i don't use it properly :D

Thank you for the info about EVE update, thats better than nothing.

Hm, after installing it through CKAN just now, it looks like it missed RSS. How strange.

Question about manual install - since RO changes files in other mods, I assume RO should be installed last and overwrite anything?

guitarxe: It seems that RO doesn't install RSS with CKAN, I set up my RO install today and had the same issue.

I seem to be having a lot of stuttering with the new release. Every second or so the game pauses for a split second and then resumes. This is with the two part craft I was testing my install with.

Excuse me, but where i can find that log? I mean, i found for exmp. "KSP/logs/Kerbin.Body" that log?

after installing it through CKAN just now, it looks like it missed RSS.
BTW, i install several times RSS and it always asks me about RO and install it. ( I hope at least, RO 29mb for me) Edited by Aldes

Hmm. Might be worth making RSS 'recommended' then it will auto-install but not be required.

As for installing RO last: if you're installing via CKAN order doesn't matter, but yes, if you're installing manually, there's a few things you need to overwrite in other mods.

He has left KSP forums, I'm not sure what he did with his mods. All of the threads are locked.

Great release and thanx a lot for this awesome work!

I have some questions regarding the RD-0120 engine configuration (from BobCat's soviet engine pack, which is supported by RO):

- This engine has a possible min. throttle of 55%, not 45% (according to the german wikipedia entry) ... ??? ...

But what puzzles me is the fuel mixture rating:

RO says: 27.5% liq. oxygen and 72.5% liq. hydrogen. I know, that these numbers are MASS ratios. But...

The mixture ratio is 6:1. Means: 6 parts hydrogen AND one part oxygen -> 7 parts.

1/7 = 0.142857

Oxygen has nearly exactly 16 times the mass of hydrogen so by multiplying it with 16 I get 2.285714

Or in percentage: 22.9% liq oxygen and 77.1% liq. hydrogen.

Those numbers are quite different...

For the russian Energija rocket the weight difference would be roughly 115 tons. I know that you guys put much more effort and competence in those configurations and maths than I, so I ask humbly, what I calculated wrong. What have I missed?

When I select "revert to VAB, the game crashes. I've had it happen repeatedly, with different craft, at different times; on the pad, in flight, after splashdown.

In the output log, it says "KSP.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)

in module KSP.exe at 0023:016d7b3a." and "Write to location 00000000 caused an access violation."

I'm not sure how to post the whole log, but this appears in each one.

I can confirm this.

Usually the part above the crash is interesting, because it tells you what it did last. ;)

Had quite a few out of memory-crashes. Sadly can't test the 64bit variant (some people report it works better than ever before) because a bunch mods are blocking 64. -_-

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be the case or if something's gone awry with patching, but several engines seem to be either missing part or all of their texture, if such a thing's even possible: the NK-33, NK-43 and the entire RD- series all look like their textures aren't loading properly and their primary bodies are just a flat white, though some do have coloring for things like tank connection rings and certain hoses. Afraid I can't provide a picture at this time since I'm running openGL which doesn't seem to like PrtScrn grabs in the slightest and KSP keeps crashing when I try to set up a good shot of an engine totem.

EDIT: And of course I realize right as I get a reply that (A) the parts in question aren't modmanager'd KWR parts like I thought they were, and (B) the dude apparently didn't do an actual texture for them.

Yeah, that's the normal texture for all the BobCat Soviet engines.

RSS is not required. For example, RO works perfectly well on 10x Kerbol, and is probably pretty fun in 6.4x too. :)

Carraux: Real life uses mass ratios. KSP uses volume ratios. 6:1 LOX/LH2 in mass comes out rather different in volume (27.5:72.5).

Carraux, SavingPilotRyan, those are out-of-memory crashes. Reduce mods installed / use force-opengl / use ATM / use lower resolution RSS textures.

Hi. I haven't even tried the 1.0x yet (can't stand vanilla, was waiting for RSS RO), but i heard that the new KSP version has mining in it. Is it implented in RO too? Is refueling from soil/atmosphere possible now?

Real ISRU (see the dev forum) is a WIP and not ready yet, so no.

Aldes: Sadly I don't see anything wrong with your log. Can you try zipping and uploading the Logs folder in your KSP folder? That has the logs from Kopernicus.
