Update: The mission

After the huge success of much national prestige that led to one hundred Brave Kerbals nobly facing a slow death in the cold vacuum of the Mun, the wise rulers of North Kerbalia have been instructed by glorious and infallible ruler Kerbal Jong Un to improve national moral further still by carrying out a mission to land 100 Kerbals upon distant Duna - hence proving eternally superiority over decadent inferior capitalists.

Part 1: Building the Lander

There were absolutely no problems whatsoever during the mission, and anyone who says otherwise is a dirty stinking traitor. This was a completely intentional manned fireworks display to celebrate birthday of glorious leader.
