Mk3 Cargo bays

Recommended Posts

This happens when there is even a small bit of clipping.

many of my SSTOs are quite notorious for exploding when they take damage or collide a little too fast, since they have anywhere from minor to alot of clipping, especially stuff like intakes being inside the craft (20 rams dont look cool at all). All i can say, is that for teh carbo bay, make sure there is nothing clipping between the vessel yopu are launching, and the mothership. Once the game detaches the 2 craft, if theres any clipping, itll send the entire thing into oblivion.

Anyone else having weirdnesses with Mk3 cargo bays?

I recently flew this to orbit:

And this is what happened as soon as I undocked the cargo:

Odds are you have something mounted under the science lab that is clipping through the bottom or into the bottom of the cargobay. And judging by the debris shot it looks like it maybe near the front of the cargo bay.

Can you post the .craft file somewhere so we can look at it? Likely something with the docking port is clipping into the node it is attached to. It happened often to me in 0.25 but I haven't had it happen in 0.90 yet.
