  1. 1. Which of these planets have you voyaged to?

These planets are of little imports ts to several KSP players. I mean cmon, it's like a 3 hour trip to the moon. You get there, deploy your probe, land with a subassembly that you used on your first Munar mission, and go home. You can't aerobrake, making things even harder. Why not just go to Jool where you can visit it's moons and even fit in an Aerobrake, or visit Eve where parachutes are acceptable or golly where the force of a decoupled launches you to a 10k Apopsis. Why not Duna? Aerobrake, A Mun like moon, Ike, and a nice size planet? What is the point of going to these planets? To say that you did. This thread is for the discussion and sharing of these ships prepared to go on their voyage. Also, please answer the poll. I'm sure we are all curios to see what you have achieved. Thanks, and please enjoy the thread!

I've been to all of them, though I haven't been back to Moho since 0.18. Of the three (and in fact of all the worlds outside the Kerbin SOI) in the past several versions, i've probably sent more craft to Dres , because the second transfer window (Kerbal Alarm Clock/Model or Alexmoon's calculator) to Dres after a new game is practically too good to miss. Dres is passing through the plane of Kerbin's orbit on arrival, and the last time I threw a fleet of twelve spacecraft to Dres through that window, the largest mid-course correction burn I had to make was on the order of 30 m/s.

Edit: Oh, and the return timing for that window? About 10 days after you arrive.

Moho is interesting, because you can waste a lot of delta-v, if you do the transfers wrong. Dres has the biggest canyon in the system. Eeloo is kind of pointless, but it's so easy to reach that I end up going there once in a while.

All of 'em. Been everywhere until they decide to add more planets. Moho, I've landed twice and performed two flybys (that was one probe that tried and failed to get into orbit on two occasions). Dres, landed four times (three landers, one rover) and put a probe into orbit. Eeloo, two landers, one base, one rover and an orbital probe.

Moho's a b****.

Dres is half the b**** that Moho is.

Eeloo's cool, both figuratively and literally :P

I have been to all three, but only sent flyby probes to Moho. I've landed on and returned from Dres and Eeloo multiple times.

I'd just be happy to see them get the kind of makeover that the Mun got. I'd also like it if Eeloo was turned into a true Pluto Analog with its own large moon and multiple smaller satellites. Maybe even a super thin methane atmosphere.

Dres doesn't make a ton of sense to me. I think it would fit better as a moon for GP2. I've been there a few times, but other than the canyon its sort of a boring lonely lump. I'd be happy it if was just moved to an outer orbit of Ike around Duna. We could use some more difficulty getting to Duna. Having Ike in the way isn't nearly enough of a problem.

I can see a gameplay reason for each of them.

Moho is challenging because its orbit is both inclined and eccentric, so getting there means you need lots of delta-v and a good TWR on arrival.

Dres seems like it's there for the same reason as Minmus -- to teach the player how to rendezvous with a highly inclined orbit. It's just that Dres takes it to the interplanetary level.

Eeloo... Hmm... it's a bit annoying because it takes 10 minutes on maximum time warp to get there. It's probably my least favorite planet to visit. It'd be better as a moon of GP2 I think. It does have some pretty fast rotation, though.

Wait. Are you saying it's hard so its not worth doing? Interesting...

I would suggest Squad add some natural landmarks to the various planets and moons after they're done toying with the space center on Kerbal. It may give more people incentive to travel to the more difficult locations.

I made it a point to send an apollo-style mission to every single planet and moon. Except Jool which I did as a huge Jool-5 mission.

This included Moho (which I've been to many times), Dres (which I've been to a couple times) and Eeloo (this was my first and so far only Kerbed mission there).

You make no sense. If all planets and moons had an atmosphere then the game would be stupidly unrealistic and far far to easy.

First off, I was just stating how hard it was to get to these planets. Two, ALL PLANETS IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM HAVE AN ATMOSPHERE!!! Even Pluto has a extremely thin atmosphere when it is closer to is Periapsis. There are more than 10 other celestial bodies BESIDES the planets that have some what of an atmosphere! Check your facts before you throw the words

Stupidly Unrealistic

I've flown orbiters and dropped landers on Dres and Eeloo with fuel to spare. Moho, however, is a different story. I've only done one mission to Moho, and it failed. It was an orbiter/lander combo, but the orbiter's fuel ran out during orbital insertion. I used up the lander's fuel and managed to slip into a very elliptic orbit.

Umm. I've only been to Eve and Duna, but I have opinions anyways!

Moho is cool because it's so close to the sun, and it has the Moholes! Gotta love the Moholes.

Eeloo is cool because it's so far away from the sun! ... Well, it's the truth.

Dres? Screw Dres

Could the last part of that statement be more true? No. Its 100% on... Screw Dres!

BTW, Nikola, goto Jool. Its the best. 5 awesome moons
