So I was just watching NASA TV and saw KSP...

So let me get this straight.

First it was the Mars One promo video from who knows how long ago that showed KSP in the background.

Then it was Elon Musk on Reddit.

Now NASATV.

What next, a US Congressional hearing?!?:D

Here's one more: upcoming asteroid mining company Planetary Resources openly advertises their love for the game.

Go to http://www.planetaryresources.com

Scroll down on the home page to the "Team" section

Find the KSP picture and mouse over it :P

I meant that the same music as used in ksp was used during the latest launch webcast, they asked SQUAD permission (Maxmaps confirmed it). They didn't know it was royalty free.

Where did he confirm that? Maxmaps hasnt posted anything since 22.10.2014. Where was music on the livestream? It was just voices and real sounds...

Wow, I'm glad everyone got a kick out of my KSP find on NASA TV! Imagine my surprise. I fell asleep and my PC to my TV as a monitor, for a split second when I woke up I thought I had kSP running in the background until I noticed it was part of the NASA TV promo. This is probably not the last time we will see KSP make the media again!

One of you asked about the program, DirecTV list everything on NASA TV as a "video file". It was one of their promos about future rocket designs with a narrator talking over it. It wasn't anything super special, a five second clip of KSP, but still wonderful to see as a KSP fan. I watch NASA TV about once-twice a week. They put a lot of repetitive programming on after a while, but usually once a week you can get the latest on what they are doing.

Oh, and you people going on about the copyright stuff. In case some of you forgot, NASA is in collaboration with KSP and SQUAD. The 2.5M parts and asteroids were added when NASA gained interest in KSP. They even gave them permission to use the NASA meatball logo in the game. It probably works both ways. I don't work for SQUAD, but I'm sure they are beyond happy with NASA using their game for publicity and probably had an agreement about that stuff in the past. And this was a very short clip, under 5 seconds, there are copyright laws out there stating you are allowed to use a clip of a song/game/movie for under five seconds or something without copyright infringement. I'm surprised anyone is even making an issue of that.

I'm just happy NASA supports this game. We need our future generations enthusiastic about science and space exploration if we ever want to go beyond lame low-Earth orbit experiments and space stations, we need people who love space travel.

Someone should either email SpaceX or NASA for this april's fool plan.

Also, I find it funny that futuristic rockets means strapping a bunch of orange tanks and lots of mainsails then extensively strutting them. We have been building the future and we didn't even know...

On an unrelated note, I kind of like how games are becoming more relevant now to main stream media, and not at some stupid "hot topic of the day" but as practical tools to enhance understanding.

Now here we have a computer simulation of the asteroid approaching Kerb(cough) Earth. Mind you this is just a simulation but we have designed the spaccreaft with a claw like device to attach to the asteroid like this.

Then the Kerb(cough) Atronauts will fire the main engine to slow the ... hopefully preventing the extinction event.

Be fair, KSP only has the claw because of NASA in the first place!

Hoorah for NASA and all the KSP players there, thanks for the collaboration :-)
