quicksave and quicksave load not working

since I have started 4 days f5 and f9 do not work and also seams that going to exit menu , save game saves game goes ok but does not save game , also auosave works , but so far cant find any where to shorten auto save or increase time for autosave this would be a good thing , I have no idea why I cannot use the keys to quick save or load a quicksave,

I also have no idea how to do a bug report tried but had no idea, I run win 7 64 bit, amd and ati gear with SSD cosair 8 gig ram every thing runs well except quick save and load

What mode are you playing on? When you set up your game you can disable quicksave/quickload to make it harder.

I think you can see the status of quicksave/quickload availability (and change it) in the alt-f12 menu, which you can access anywhere in the game.

Are you running the game in 32 or 64 bit? I know a friend who acquired their copy via Steam as you appear to have done, and for some bizarre reason it defaulted to launching the 64 bit version, which is... less than stable. In his case, the stage button wouldn't work and the staging light stuck on purple instead of green.

Try going into your KSP directory (c:\program files\steam\steamapps\ksp or something similar) and launching KSP.exe manually (instead of KSP_x64.exe), see if that improves things. You don't need to have Steam running, as the game doesn't use any DRM.

Also, what 5thhorseman said. Try starting a sandbox-mode game or a career mode game in normal difficulty, see if that fixes it.

I ran into the same problem where an f5 quick save wasn't working.  However, I think they just moved it.  If you go back to the space center and then pull up your esc options you can save from there.  I preferred the old way.

Hi @toejam, Ossie posted this in February so there's a good chance he's figured it out by now, F5 and F9 do work but you need to make sure your F keys have not been toggled to another mode, for example as media keys on some laptops.
