can I do this? Override the override?

No, you cannot.

Actually, you can. But you are limited by 2 things:

1. You cannot override, if the number in contest is held by you. As per the special clause for rule 7: Rule 7 cannot be invoked if in doing so it violates rule 2

For example

You: 12 <- number in contest

Poster 2: 13

You: 11 <- invalid. It would effectively means you just post twice before another person could change the number

Poster 3: 11 <- valid.

2. You only have 1 chance in the 1 minute window to override. Only your earliest post in that window counts. Note: The one minute window for override counts from the first move from the number in contest.

For example:

Poster 1 (0:01): 21 <- number in contest

Poster 2 (0:02): 20 <- First move

Poster 3 (0:02): 22 <- valid override.

Poster 2 (0:03): 20 <- invalid. they already post once in the window.

Poster 4 (0:04): 20 <- invalid. The 1 minute window from the first move has passed.

Otherwise, you are allow to override an override to battle for 1 number progression.

Edit: Forgot another very important thing: The 1 minute window can be cut short if someone move on from the contested number.

Example:

Poster 1 (0:01) : 30 <- previous number in contest

Poster 2 (0:01) : 29 <- First move

Poster 3 (0:01) : 31 <- Override the above

Poster 4 (0:01) : 32 <- Move on. Current contested number

Poster 5 (0:02) : 29 <- Invalid. Late for override, even though it is still the time limit, it didn't make it in time.

If it poster 5 made it before poster 4:

Poster 3 (0:01) : 31 <- Override Poster 2

Poster 5 (0:01) : 29 <- Override poster 3 (current correct number)

Poster 4 (0:02) : 32 <- Invalid. it is either +2 from the contested number (30) or +3 from the last correct number (29) and thus nulled as per rule 1.
