Wooooo!

Mods, if you'd be so kind, let this sit for a day, before you fire it out of the rockomax engine to where posts of this nature usually belong.

Just wanted to take a minute to explain some things. I've been gone a while, as you all know. Taking care of sick parent, working et cetera. ADHD pans in a bit. And I've been dabbling here and there and everywhere. But I've got a much more recent and welcome distraction!

I had a brunch with a person I've taken a shining to from the office. A pretty lady I figure would have no interesting in the surly, hirsute codger you see before you. It went rather well. And now, just maybe an hour ago, I've confirmed that the next meetup with be an actual date. WOOOO!

For a span of time, I get to enjoy being the luckiest person in the world! I'm so happy! Pardon me for getting a little of my celebration on you.

And with that, I return you to the rapid unplanned disassembly almost assuredly in progress.

*whirls madly away*

You and me both, brother. I've been mostly locked in the house, taking care of said sick parent. I've had no social or love life in more than ten years.

And just that quick, when I least expected it, I get to again rejoin the human race. This planet is awesome!

The best part is I spent a long time trying to work up the nerve to ask her out. And SHE asked ME out! I spent the whole day wondering if some deity had found the universal console and figured out one of the cheat codes.

I've got another Whack-ism for yas. I figured I'd better post this one. She said at one point that she was concerned that maybe she was carrying some baggage. This was my response.

"Everyone has baggage. Sometimes it's brightly colored and has tons of those little destination stickers all over it, so everybody can't help but look and see where it's been. Sometimes it's camo and lumpy and uninteresting and nobody sees it. But we all carry some. The trick is to remember to extend that little handle and to drag it on the wheels. You might have to carry it with you, but the key is to not let it weigh you down."

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Whackjob again."

Congrats, I hope you find that you're a perfect match :)

try not to spend your dates talking about KSP.

I will, actually. She's a gamer, too, though she's got a Mac and not a PC. I'm already considering building her a proper gaming rig. :)

Even though my budget is largely shot, I might pick up a temporary second job. Though I also have a promotion looming, which may solve that for me.

And what's wrong with gaming on a Mac? Granted, mine is a crap rig, but some are very nice. Though I consider myself a PC person.

Build her a heart-shaped space station, and launch it in one go!

That's perfect, so cool that she has some similar interests.

As for a second job, have you ever considered becoming an evil genius?

You seem to have the necessary whacky doomsday device skills and it pays well I believe :D

If it's a more recent mac with a decent cpu, gpu, ssd, minimum 8 GB of RAM, and a modern set of I/O, it should work just as well if not better than a PC when you install windows through bootcamp.
