Best mods for building bases and rovers.

Hi guys!

Refer to the tile for the question. In the upcoming 1.2 update, I would like to start using mods. My plan is to set up a base on Kerbin, which I use as a staging base for hunting for all the anomalies. This will include other vehicles, like planes and rover, that I use to hunt for the anomalies. What are the best mods for bases and rovers? I keep finding a bunch of good mods, but they have not been updated since 1.1 :P.

Thanks!

Thxs @Tex_NL, @Werty, @gmiddlemass and @RoverDude. Quick question though, do I need any form of life support for these mods to work? I really do not like them, since I tend to forget about my guys in the base, which causes them all to die of starvation or suffocation, but them mods look interesting part wise. Do they require the life support to function, or can I still RP?

I thought the same as you, but tried out roverdudes usi-ls and found it was great for exactly that sort of reason. Out of the box its non fatal, you just kerbals just stop working if they run out of funds, and if you mix it with these to is makes them amazing!

USI life support is  a nice balance and quite configurable. By default any Kerbal who runs out of supplies does not die but simply turns into a "tourist" who can be returned to active duty as soon as fresh supplies are available. You can also select your orange suited Kerbals to be immune to the effects so that there is always someone capable of mounting a rescue mission.

I've only just started plying with it myself and do quite like the extra challenge it gives. It's also not too difficult to make stations and ships self sufficient once you get the hang of it.
