  1. I don't trust the Debug Menu's FPS readout in general. It has this weird habit of showing 30 FPS even if the real framerate is obviously much, much lower.
  2. I recommend reading through the EVE thread for information on how to create custom EVE configurations. This is just a configuration I made, so editing it and adding features is the same as it is with EVE and any other EVE configuration pack.
  3. It's nice that all that's getting into their game now, but none of it's all that new or impressive. KSP could easily adopt similar levels of fidelity (just look at Scatterer so far), although that would come at the cost of requiring much stronger GPUs and thus block out a large portion of the player community.
  4. Does the pack still lag badly if you try launching a ship with only a few parts (say just a probe core and an RTG)? I have trouble buying that your GPU is too weak when I can run this easily on Intel HD Graphics 4000 on a laptop. If the problem is tied to how many parts your ship has or how many ships are in your save file, then it's not the graphics card but your CPU that's underperforming. If the problem is related to how many mods you have installed, then it's your RAM that's too small. I'm also looking into seeing if I can disable the procedural noise feature in the cloud detail textures, as I have a feeling it's also a big performance hog. UPDATE!: Turns out the noise feature isn't a procedural noise function at all, as I had thought it was, but merely a scrolling texture. The pack has now been updated with a correction to the stationary clouds on Kerbin (I had accidentally set their speed to 0), all unused textures trimmed out, and a few other minor adjustments.
  5. ^ Thanks. Very cool so far! As long as people are throwing ideas into the basket, can I request you look into making a Kugelblitz engine? P.S.: As long as we're on this topic, if you haven't already noticed all your other threads' OPs are borked too xP
  6. Am I the only one for whom the first post in this thread is just an empty white void? I feel like there are supposed to be pictures or something in there but I don't see anything :\
  7. Based on what I've done, umm... Kerbal Space Program? ^^;
  8. "15000 parts" "Ubiozur Welding" Okay so how many parts is it accounting for all the welding?
  9. Unless you already know how to edit atmosphere configurations in EVE, the only way to fix the clouds is to wait around for me to post an updated version of the pack.
  10. I thought the reason for Kerbal death poofs was to release the spores contained inside them so they might grow into another grassy mat that spawns new Kerbals. o_O
  11. First try reading the first page And also the comment literally just above yours.
  12. Well duh the Kraken is "bloaked." As Kuzzter himself noted, while many of us have been attacked, nobody has ever actually seen the Kraken because it's invisible. I dunno if that technically counts as bloaking, but that's just a matter of semantics. ...wait. The Kraken has yet to make a move on KerbFleet but is engaging in direct combat against the Kerbulans. Is the Kraken really the guardian of Kerbalkind? Its dark knight? Kodzilla?
  13. I'll look into it. Is it just Kerbin where the clouds don't move, or is it everywhere?
  14. - Yes, everything is configurable. This entire "mod" is nothing but a bunch of configuration settings for EVE and a few extra textures. Anything you can change in EVE can be changed. The way I made the glow effects is actually by just making an opaque cloud layer for each body at a high altitude and setting it to only be visible at long distances. - As a rule, visual mods are going to attack your GPU rather than your CPU, so your current situation makes sense. This does look better than the stock game, but if you can run KSP fine with all those other visual mods this isn't for you However, if you are concerned about overworking your GPU, this would help as a replacement for SVE and Scatterer, not an addition. The atmospheric glow effects I faked aren't going to look very good on top of Scatterer's realistic atmospheres. You can keep Planetshine (I have it too) and Texture Replacer though.
  15. In my experience the "Kerbal milky way" isn't uniform at all. Panning all the way around the sky reveals a definite trend toward a thick, dense region in one direction and a dim, sparse region in the opposite direction (something I appreciated as a design detail).
  16. The reason people took forever to reply is that you posted this thread in the wrong place. In the future, please put request threads in the Suggestions & Development Discussion forum.
  17. Oh yeaaahhh... I remember now. I guess my standards have changed with the Poodle reduced to a mere 350 and everything else (except the venerable LV-N and PB-ION... please never change) lower.
  18. 60 BK: Superkerbal and General Kod face off in an epic battle which destroys several buildings and leaves thousands of Kerbals in a panic. Bat Kerbal is displeased, but knows better than to let himself get goaded into picking a fight. Early 60 BK: A band of tall pink aliens calling themselves "hoo-mans," led by General Kod, parks a spacecraft over Distrikt K and begins attempting to take over Kerbin. Elsewhere, an oddly tall pink Kerbal with mysterious powers decides to start calling himself "Superkerbal" and begins training his mind and body to repel the invaders.
  19. Yes, I do agree that calling every new glitch a "Kraken" is kinda dumb. There is but one Kraken, the true Kraken. It is eternal and inescapable, always watching and waiting in the infinite void. Krakensbane can only delay it, and no amount of bugfixing will get rid of it for good, for the Kraken is bigger than just KSP. The Kraken is known by many names across many video games, including the crappy one known as "real life:" Quantum Foam, False Vacuum, The Great Galactic Ghoul... but all of these in all their variety nevertheless refer to the same thing - the thing that waits in the dark, sometimes for eons, only to strike when least expected and with merciless violence, thereafter to disappear once again leaving nothing behind but debris and fear.
  20. Wait WHAT? The Thud had 360 isp?!?!? I must have totally missed that or I would have used them on ALL the things xD
  21. I click on the little bar at the top where it says "Untitled Space Craft" and type a new name in there, then save or launch the ship. Yep, that's how I name my vessels ;P
  22. Other than "Untitled Space Craft" and "Untitled Space Craft Probe" (I like having recoverable booster stages), I suppose the names I've reused the most are these: - Space Tug Klaw Edition - SSL WIP (Single-Stage Lifter, Work in Progress. Used for ptototypes) - KerbSat 1
  23. Ah. How well-timed. I was just mentioning in another thread how everything you do in KSP is instantly way more epic when the "Interstellar" soundtrack is playing in the background xD https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLco_u-O9FeQ_cV5gc3VdUHoQYBI73MYkU Usually I just listen to whatever's in my Music folder on shuffle. I tend to collect a lot of trance and glitch hop these days. My current random music playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6FF2C8A7C6B9639C Now as for music for launching giant rockets, this track takes the cake: Hit the spacebar right at 1:08 when the BASS drops for maximum pwntasticness xD
