  1. First of all I must apologize for my reaction. I just don't respond all that well to sudden changes of established parts, or anything else for that matter. Nice quick mock-up of my original thing though! I've noticed the engine quality and overall quality of parts has improved much, I like that the adapters are revamped too and go with the rest of the parts. And yeah, I have all infinite cheat stuff switched on as I always do in KSP and in other games too in terms of cheats. I cheat a lot to get my version of fun out of games, I just can't for my own mental health play games normally as last time I tried I almost broke something in real life and a few days later I did break a lot of things but that was not due to a game but from pure frustration both in gaming and in real life. Anyhow, after taking a closer look at the newer parts I ended up making this little thing, it has stock's Mk1 cone capsule welded inside it and yes, you can exit and enter it even: It's the only way I can have both three RPM monitors and a window that still works all the while the ship looking something else entirely from the outside. And no it's not a lander nor an escape thing. Not sure what it is but it's manned/kerballed and that unmodified/yet-to-modify main engine got it to orbit. I think I'm starting to see the charm in KSP again as I had no noticeable framerate issues other than a mod or two not working properly.
  2. Ah, well.. my issue is that the two conical parts you see on my LIS-1 ship that have a separator in the middle, and notice the two cylinder tanks on the sides of the long clunker of mine. Those are nowhere to be found in 1.1's Tantares. The frell am I supposed to use now to build/fly those ships again? Seriously!? It's bad enough that I don't get to shape my own ships like in Starmade. Now I have part removal in KSP going on!?! ....FRELL!!!

  4. Nice, when I have/make the time for KSP, finally I can build something. But I gotta ask. Where are all of the british parts, those cones and cylinders in plain grey? I need those and I can't remember why it's not in the pack. Last ship I built used these y'know: Tha last ship I built in 1.0.5, a ship I need to remake since I didn't get to enjoy it much due to low framerates and whatnot. And here's a ship I built last year in 1.0.4: Not latest anymore but the point is: Where are those British parts! *does the Darth Vader impression*
  5. Ah, wasn't aware but it's understandable. In any case. Can't play KSP without your mod anyway. It's still one of the best parts mod next to KSOS station parts and a lot of the spacecraft I was planning to build need them. Gave 1.1 a try today but.. uhh, yeah. No Tantares, no KSP. It's okay though, I can wait for mods to catch up.

  7. I guess, I'm back. Depends on if mods work and if KSP manages to re-hook me into the game somewhat. Anyway, does Tantares have at least one capsule/cockpit with at least 4 RPM screens by now? And if no then is there an UI mod that enables the user to have RPM windows on the screen? Because I need it If I'm going to fly something from the inside. EDIT: Also, are there any cockpits both old or new with IVAs added? Does 'Spectre' have one? Does mercury thing have one? Are there more IVAs in station parts now? And does that 'Kvant' thing and vostok have an IVA?
  8. My mind is something of an anomaly as I think of things that haven't even been invented yet on this planet. Such as propulsion that doesn't need thrusters/exhausts, has mass reducing device, a warp drive, some type of forcefield technology around the ship and multi-layered armor hull as a physical defence. Yeah go ahead and laugh, yuck it all up. In about 10,000 or so years we'll see who's laughing. I'm just frelling tired of this primitive world and being stuck on it so excuse me if my fuse gets short.
  9. Nice! I like the look of it. Downloading yer mod right about now to see what I could build with it (the VAB is the only place currently where my framerate is tolerable).

  11. Thanks! Would prefer to build a Toy Box too but, alas that's something that'll need alot more patience and parts to do, the newer Toy Box model they get in the series is even more of a something that needs bulky sci-fi parts, big reason why I've spent my time playing Starmade instead to let my creativity flow. Would be nice to have almost all the stock plane and shuttle parts retextured to look grey, that's the only solution I can think of to make a good looking Toy Box spin-off. But yeah, PC issues. Guess I'll keep waiting for that 64bit update and try to make 1.0.5 have more frames without making everything look muddy. It's from a series called 'PLANETES'. Speaking of the series I can relate myself to Hachimaki almost 100% which is a first for me because never before has some fictional character been similar to myself until this year. Anyway, back to my original question to Beale: How's IVA progress?
  12. Alrighty then: It's a thing inspired by a clunker from episode 18 "Debris Section's Last Day". Only thing my ship needs now is actual flight tests but KSP still refuses to run smoothly, really bummed about that. EDIT: Huh, the more I look at my ship the more I see improvements to be made like adjusting the long landing struts to be at an angle and replace those xenon collectors at the each end of those side tanks with a same unit customized to turn ore into fuel (the two tanks hold both fuel and ore).
  13. Built a clunker inspired by a spacecraft from Planetes (will probably post a picture of it later but I doubt it). But darn is the game even more laggy for me than before. Unacceptable! I guess after I'm done testing my craft in flight I'll go on another hiatus, unless I get my frames to stay at 50-60 ..good grief. Anyway, loving the new parts. Put that new docking node to good use on that clunker of mine. EDIT: Sorry, really I am but I just can't play this game with piss-poor frames even though I made a rather small craft consisting of 144 parts and the game lags like I'm flying a 250-400 part ship. I have an i7 3770k CPU, Gigabyte's three-fanned GTX 980, 16gb of RAM. Every other game runs butter smooth (depends on the game really) but KSP running like ARK Survival Evolved? No.. just, no.

  15. Just as I was about to finally get back to KSP and see what mods have updated for 1.0.5 first a day or two ago, a land mower goes over this forum site. So now that it has passed I can continue, one heck of a land mower eh? Actually scratch the land mower thing since this is space related site mainly about KSP it really is more of a comet/asteroid related incident and I guess the Squad HQ ran out of funds to repair the damages so now it slowly recovers. Anyway, liking the look of new things in Tantares. How's IVA progress been? EDIT: Oh nice, Polaris has IVA. Finally! Will be useful frontal crew compartment for me. *starts cobbling together things*
  16. AHH! It's the egg from the "Alien"! Kane Kerman please DO NOT go near it, trust me you'll thank me la- oh it's just a new piece of technology. Whew! Anyway, joking aside I really wasn't expecting to see that thing, so random but a fine looking space egg! Also on a side note I finally got my CPU cooler and so far it's working smooth, I can play KSP (and anything that needed CPU usage higher than 30%) without having to hear that awful chainsaw noise! I think I'll be using that egg as a pressure probe or.. secretly conceal a facehugger in there.
  17. Shenzhou OM with 0.9375m top node? Awesome, nice one Beale! That part will be put to use on my atomic vessel and other designs that need a bottom exit to surface/space. Now if it only had an IVA as I've run into problems regarding KIS and IVAless areas, I keep loosing my inventory one way or the other (don't know if the problem has been fixed with KIS or not)! Also liking that Soyuz CM is finally stripeless again. A welcome change IMO!

My current temporary cooler from an i5 CPU (my i7's stock cooler kinda broke) isn't very pleasant when you want to wind down with a game that happens to want more than average CPU usage. Turns the sound of my computer into that of a tiny chainsaw, keeps driving me bananas (it's even worse when the CPU usage keeps going from like 60 to 95, agh my sanity and my ears!). Anyway, nice mission to Ike with Fregat! Also I did come up with a few ideas in my mind as to where I'd use that engine. EDIT: Smooth looking new SM texture!
  19. For me personally, I haven't the slightest clue yet as to what design I'll use it in. I mean Soyuz looks like some sort of pre-warp interplanetary vessel with that attached to it's back and it looks good! But I'm doing my own thing so.. no worries, once I get my CPU cooler changed with something less noisy and more efficient (only have to wait for it get delivered now) and my creativity going I'll figure something out. As always, without Tantares I wouldn't be playing KSP. Just earlier today I did my second straight up landing with my atomic vessel v2 but with a twist: Suicide burn, made my ship look like it was trying to show Minmus who's it's new overlord. Felt awesome.
  20. Thanks! Bit.. unexpected. Unfortunately I'd have to remove some of my customized parts (separate parts and modified parts with unique configs) from the ship and re-add the original parts, besides that ship's not really finished anyway hence why it has the word "Draft" at the end of it and even my current ongoing v2 version of it is even more of a pain to re-purpose. Even If I get it all done the ship weighs about 20-30 tops and the original engine thrust might as well be a fire extinguisher. Sorry. It's easier if you build a similar looking craft yourself. EDIT: Regarding the sound issue, still no idea what's causing it.

Just started to fiddle with the config myself and while comparing Eva to stock's nuclear engine I noticed that "skinInternalConductionMult" line is missing from Eva so I added it to Eva (EDIT: edited out my brain fart). Other modifications I made (for my own playstyle) to the engine were reducing the heat production a bit, making alternator give out more electric charge, one zero more of specific impulse and of course more thrust, about 4000 units of it. Also what the heck does this module line in stock engine do? MODULE { name = ModuleTestSubject environments = 8 useStaging = False useEvent = True } Other than that I'm not exactly sure what's causing the sound issue. Tested the stock engine too and even that has that sound issue but not as severe as with Eva. Also to note: The sound issue shows up after the engine has already been used a bit as the problem doesn't show up when you activate the engine for the first time. Gonna test this thing some more and see what I'll find.

Since KSP 1.0.4 on my rig seems to run better with terrain rendering quality set to default and V-Sync off, I already went ahead and decided to further improve my design (looks alot better now IMO but need to work on it some more). I did find an annoying issue with the nuclear engine when it's activated, namely the fact that at 0% of thrust I keep hearing this loud noise for a split second and then it cuts off and that goes on and on the entire time the engine is activated. It sounds like the engine's idle sound wants to start playing but doesn't, annoying and hurts my ears. Would like to get rid of it.
  23. Well, found a way to make my KSP 1.0.4 run a bit more bearable. Had to finally scratch that itch of mine with those new parts with this: EDIT: I really did land that thing in IVA from orbital height down to the surface, if anyone's wondering.
