  2. I really don't want the devs to waste their time with things like this when there is an amazing mod called K&K kolonization system, which does colony stuff very well
  3. I'm guessing it might be in multiple files, so you might need to dig around, look for DLLS cause they have a good chance of containing those effects

  5. So I myself have a heavily modded install, with about 45 folders in gamedata not counting the squad folder. So I want to know why do you use certain mods.

  7. What I meant was a semi realistic situation where each weather pattern has a direction it's headed in, and spawning is procedural

Well, I don't code games but from an optimization standpoint weather calculations don't have much CPU drain as they are only a bunch of random numbers, which don't even get generated on the same chip as physics calculations in modern cpus(discrete chip, on package). The real question is about how to integrate it into physics. There, we just adjust the atmospheric direction of the craft(in the computer) and calculate from there.
  9. To start off, I would like to say that there are two things that mods cannot do effectively for this game. Multiplayer, and better physics. Other than that, mods all the way. Now I would love multiplayer, but it will never happen as some players resist it. (Resistance is futile). Now the second thing that mods can't accomplish, physics, is not resisted by any player. So here are my suggestions: - Allow kerbals to walk on moving surfaces. This will definitely make the people at mission reports/KSP storytelling extremely happy, and it will make any player happy. It adds so much functionality when kerbals can actually do things on the decks of ships and the wings of planes. This feature could be done by making kerbals "stick" to things they walk on more, and by making kerbals have a realistic weight and realistic aero so they don't decelerate at 5g when they jump out of a cockpit. - do the same for planes so planes could taxi on flying airstrips - do the same for rovers, for the same reasons - this isn't physics, but weather should be added, mostly for wind purposes -waves

KSP is a sandbox, so let's go over some sandbox games similar to KSP with multiplayer: beseige- has multiplayer in development, and will definitely make the game more fun. minecraft-no explanation needed avorion- the game is a new game with mp, and is so much more fun. terratech could use some mp, as can from the depths. Only kerbal has people who think MP is useless. Let me state a few uses for it: - actually getting useful stuff done such as space stations - plane races - stealing your friends ships - just having fun
  11. Personally I wouldn't take action yet but I would keep an eye on the situation. If something like CKAN or Kerbal Konstrukts get one of those letters then the community of ksp must respond. Maybe boycott the DLC or something. If the community is unified then Comcast and ea combined take 2 might respond
  12. My personal opinion is that squad should implement CKAN into the stock game, and leave it at that. So beginners don't have to dig around the internet for tutorials, just one click mod installation
  13. This is more of a unity question, but how worth it would it be to do physics on a GPU. In theory, KSP physics work by many simple floating point calculations, and video cards do those faster than CPUs. Would this work?
  14. I want to see physics added that could make for some really cool KSp mission reports/ image stories. Like giving Kerbals actual inertia, as they have the mass of a midget, but the drag of a boat. So you can't walk around on moving ships, and the wings of planes. Like I just made an "airbase" which is a runway flying in the air. It is a cool design, and planes can dock(bless you KAS) and kerbals can transfer, but they can't walk around on the plane and maintenance the planes with KIS/KÄS STUFF

  18. We've all been there, a kerbals falls out of their seat on a ship, and they can't move, and they rag doll on the ground as if paralyzed. Also, being able to walk around on planes and rovers would make for some easy repairs with KÄS / KIS and some really cool screenshots. So what do you all think?

  21. Well someone wants to warp. Let's say 1 person wants to warp, and 2 are flying planes, and 2 are docking a space station. The plane guys land, the space station people finish docking and then the guy warps.

  23. I think the DMP solution should be the option for big servers, but for like a 5 person server, I think it should be "everybody lands" solution.
