The "stuck at the KSC" issue
Torgo replied to ibanix's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Works like a charm. Thanks! -
more buildings to the space center
Torgo replied to Shark4558's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I'd love to see the buildings with the functions like Sumghai suggests. I'd love for some kind of function where we'd be able to choose, if we wished, to upload our visitors' center so that other people could view it online, but I realize that would come with several technical hurdles and not be something on which the dev team would devote many (or any) resources. -
Loving this mod, but received a Communication Satellite Network contract with Frequency ranges of 43.5, 44.5, 45.5, 46.6, 47.5 and 48.5. I was only able to set 43.5 manually. I edited the craft files as explained above to set the higher frequencies, but as the slider only went to 47, I'm wondering if 47.5 and 48.5 will even work, or if they'll get snapped back down to 47.

The "stuck at the KSC" issue
Torgo replied to ibanix's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I've gotten the same exact issue. And going back to the main menu doesn't help, as all the options there are greyed out. I end up having to quit out manually and reload. To work around it, I've been making quicksaves as often as possible. I'll reload the quicksave while stuck, and still be stuck, but when when I quit out and go back in, I can keep playing. -

Spacecraft explode over South Pole.
Torgo replied to RCgothic's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I had a similar occurrence last night with a scanning probe. Launched it into a stable polar orbit, then went upstairs for some dinner. I'm eating with the family when the sounds of explosions come from the computer. My probe had overheated and exploded near the south pole. I reverted and launched again, but went back to the Space Center after I circularized. It was fine when it was on rails. I'll play with it later to see if I can replicate the south pole issue. -
rendesvouz for dummies (again)
Torgo replied to Clear Air Turbulence's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I use Mechjeb now, but made sure I figured out how to do it on my own. Outside of actual docking, rendezvous is the toughest thing to learn. You really need to think 4 dimensionally to make it work right. Quick save will be your very best friend in the world while you figure it out. -
rendesvouz for dummies (again)
Torgo replied to Clear Air Turbulence's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
When I'm closing in on my target, assuming I'm travelling faster, I'll point retrograde and burn until the difference in speed between my target and I drops to 0. Make sure to use the target function on the navball. If it says orbit, click on it until it says target. You need a target selected, of course. If your target is catching you, you burn prograde instead. Once down to 0, use the target indicator on the navball. Burn towards it at a slow rate. Then burn retro as you get closer. You can get right up close using this method. The key is to make sure you have target relative speed selected. -
Are MODs like KER, and tools like KTOT, cheating, or just un-Kerbal?
Torgo replied to Birdco_Space's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Time Warp is cheating! Fly those missions real time or don't fly them at all! -
They put a treadmill called C.O.L.B.E.R.T. on the ISS. Throwing a Kerbal somewhere is easier.

They found Kerbals.

Warner Bros. already flagged you, at least here in the US.

Kheez-Itz And Koffee to wash it down

I was born 15 minutes before Apollo 11 left the pad. Since I was a little kid I was into space and anything that had to do with it. I have used Orbiter since its earliest inceptions, and like Cairol a few posts back, was heavy into Space Engineers and saw the same references to KSP. I had seen glimpses of it for a while, but always thought it looked too cartoony and wouldn't hold my interest. I got the demo from Steam, and bought it after about 10 minutes of playing. This was about 6 weeks ago. Now I see it's like Dr. Schweiger and Keen Software had a baby, with the physics challenges of Orbiter and the ease of making your own ships like Space Engineers. I'll end up logging my 400th hour some time this weekend. As for the 'cartoony' feel, my 4 year old loves it and wants to help build rockets and see 'his' Kerbals. Very early on in my experience, we were playing when he waved and said 'Hi' to Jebediah's iso-cam view, and as if on cue, Jeb moved his arm and it looked like he was waving back. I'm having as much fun with this game as I have ever had with a game.

All of them. All the mods I can.

The "You know you're playing a lot of KSP when..." thread
Torgo replied to Phenom Anon X's topic in KSP1 Discussion
When your Kerbal sized 4 year old son does something crazy and stupid, instead of yelling at him, you call him Jebediah. -
The Mun used to have a highly elliptical orbit until one day Jeb told it to stand still.
