  1. So turn on infinite fuel, send out probe with engine, wait forever?
  2. The link just gives a yellow square with helis.com in it I didn't burn ererything one after another: 5 or so had already gone to the mun, one was sent an orbit early, and for the rest I activated all engines and set up some maneuver about half and orbit before the transfer. Also there were like 2 clusters; one of the upper ring probes and one of the bottom ones; with 20 min inbetween. And by the time of munar encounter most had hours of difference to the others and it didn't matter that much where I burnt exactly.
  3. I'm not gonna build one big thing, but the X's will be made out of the "base" signatures on the map. Mainly what I meant with problems with the view is that those markers saying "here flies target/debris on x distance from you" dont apear with me. This makes docking way harder because that and the low graphic settings combined mean that I only get a visual for my space station from about 150 meter and before that I can only use the navball. I have got all probes to munar orbit, here's a album of how that went:
  4. Nice aiming then! You are now the new holder of the first place, with 210 points, which I think is a nice score.
  5. Are those missiles strong enough to deorbit themselves? If so you will get more points
  6. I dont know if it's already been said, but maybe allow for target mode? So I could plan moving compared to target in advance. mainly useful with slow turners when you want to skip trough part of the orbit, during which the vectors change.
  7. Do you have pictures of the missiles themselves, and maybe of the firing? By the way, I really like the donut shape!
  8. Each lander is really small, and I didn't wan't to launch a ton of rockets. So I tried putting 8 in a fairing on top of my launcher for space station parts, but it had to many parts and the game then stops simulating struts, so it was really instable. So I thought to keep it stable put them low so center of drag is really low. That meant SSTO, but it worked. The first cross now aready had 4 ships landed, and there are 3 probes still in orbit, and 8 still attached to the launcher. Because of the orbit I can only do the munar transfer once per kerbin month, so that is pretty annoying. above is an album showing how far I am currently. Here is an album of my laucher reentering the atmosphere:
  9. My first drone made it to the crater, now I know that I can do it i'll land some more drones and try making a cross. You can also see the huge SSTO rocket i used to get the probes to orbit, where it is now stuck, and you can see the landed drone.
  10. Build weaponry systems in stock KSP! There will be different catogories: fighter jet, orbital weapon and ground weapons. Fighter jets and ground weapons will get points for the following: Small short range weapon: Allow mounting a lot of these on your vehicle. Try shooting rovers or planes with this from up close. 5 points for every four shots you can take to a max of 20 points. Long range unguided weapon: Not that much missiles needed. Try hitting something from a few kilometers. 10 points for one, 20 for two. Long range guided missile: Needs a probe core and batteries for the whole trip and probably some control sufaces, show it attached to the launching vehicle and fired towards a target. 15 points for one, 25 for two Jets only: A bomb without engines which falls to the target. May be guided or unguided. Drop on a target from over 500 m height. Please throw at something on the plain the KSC is on. Points are awarded depending on dropping height and accuracy with the formula Points=(Drop height/Distance from target on hitting the ground)+25 Ground weapons only: points awarded for mobility. 5 points for each 5 m/s op to 25 m/s, same for water Orbital weapons are getting points for other things: A missile to launch at the planet your orbiting. 20 points for the first 2 missiles,if able to aim so well that you can hit between KSC an fighter island you get a 2X multiplier. A missile capable of being launched to a moon of orbiting body. Must be as accurate as actually impacting. 50 points for the first 2 missiles A missile able to be fired to another planet, must be as accurate as coming in the SOI of the targeted planet. 50 points per missile per orbit inwards or outwards for the first 2 missiles. 1.5X multiplier for hitting the planet or its moon A short range defense system. 5 points per shot for the first 10 shots, 10 extra points if you can shoot in many different directions. Have a ship which can travel trough the system. 30 points + 15 for ability to go to Duna, 15 for Jool, 10 for Eeloo Needing to input commands to the rockets after firing will give you an 0.5 multiplier for that missile. Making a reusable craft to launch new missiles and dock the with the station/ship gives you a 1.5X multiplier for the missile. Having both of these will not give a multiplier. Rules are subject to change Leaderboard: Jets: No entries Ground based weapons: None eiter Orbital weapons: ihtoit: 210 points
  11. I had an idea to defeat the the mun, I want to make 2 X in two craters which are next to one another. But before i can do that i will need to increase the framerate and find out what settings I need to be able to see other rockets out of the map from a distance, My laptop runs ksp with about 10 fps when I launch big rockets. Edit: The craters I expect to go for are the ones which light up orange and green with biomes visible, with the mouth being the purple blob.
  12. what does your profile pic say?

  13. wow! You managed to land something that long compared to its width. All landers i make are twice as wide as they are high or just flip...
  14. the "stupor krumbo guppy" could maybe get one more kerbal by attaching the mk1 commandpod in front of the mk3 one
  15. is it allowed to have fuel tanks as payload and like use half of that fuel?
  16. "must have science experiments" so thats two or more. I'd take thermo- and barometer, but i'm building a mun base first
  17. ik speel ook ksp, ben nu bezig met een ore basis op de maan, iemand tips
  18. Spinning end over end also helps to dissapate heat, I think this is because it's impossible to point perfectly retrograde, and thus one side will be more exposed if you try, that would also explain roll. Bonus is extra drag thus slowing more, I made this technique while trying to aerobrake from mun without burning and using my lander as a good heatshield.
