(Lightly Modded) The Kerbal Frontier! - Chapter 2 rewritten!
superstrijder15 replied to cy4n's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
4th wall breaks everywhere! Can't like, already spent all in First Flight -
This story is awesome! I red(?) trough it in only 5 days! I also think this thread has gotten about 125 likes from me in that time, I wanted to give more, but: I absolutely love the storyline of Jonton the an-Kerm The reason for this is probably that usually one can kinda predict whats going to happen: good end, to do so they blow up the death star in epic battle, the film is focused on Luke so he'll drop the bomb. But with this story there are multiple possibilities. A solution will be found, but will it by found in extrakerbinial colonies or in some trick by Jonton, or by finding out how to safely put many grooves on the same territory( by Jonton or the scientists). Or something else entirely! Excited already for further chapters!

[1.1.3] TAC - Life Support v0.12.2 - Release 03 JULY 2016
superstrijder15 replied to danfarnsy's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hello, I'm still on ksp 1.0.5, and wanted life support, so i got tacls 0.11.2. I also got PBS's 1.0.5 version. the weird thing is: my kerbals don't need anything( or so it seems). I think I installed the wrong bits(do you need to copy anything but GameData?), as the download is quite messy. I also use KJR,MechJeb and Kerbal Alarm Clock and Remotetech. those all seem to work properly. It would be nice if somebody could help me, cause I really want to kill my kerbals without explosions! superstrijder- 200 replies

Oops! sci-fi mix up the heillmann drive is the name of a wormhole generator drive in some short stories I read some months ago. It changes all matter in its trajectorie to energy while being used to fuel it, which is way to explosive! Most of the plot is about the crew of One starship surviving sith their ship, while earth has destroyed all others as well as the bleuprints. I meant the Epstein drive. P.S. How are chunks of space different in size called?(system, sctor, ..., galaxy) How far have kerbals explored(galaxy only, multiple galaxies, a few systems)
-
But you litterally say it leaves a wake in realspace, see here: Also, with translation drive, do you mean the thing carrying you up and down hyperplanes? and are bigger units used for bigger ships or do you just feed them more? and 4 more questions: Can aero surfaces or angling your ship change the course of the ship? Is artgrav technology capable of keeping a ship in low g-s as well as high ones(I would assume so, or getting to 0.2c would take really long) What kind of subspace drive can I use? I was thinking to just use the heillmann drive from The Expanse, and if in a hurry combine it with polyspatial tech. Are the same engines used for realspace and high-space? How is trading or colonizing done then? IMO it would be better to say government has control instead of military, so politicans could chose whom te distribute to, or at least have a thing which says that in peace times ...% of military ships are used for trade & transport. Also for my exposition it would be convienent if at least some pirate-like faction has some, so a factory revolt or something might have made some drives to dissapear?

Credits for the universe go to you, and as much as possible I will change my story to work around any changes here. I'm making notes for the use of a polyspatial High-space drive, and I have some questions, about some other stuff as well. How much faster than light is the ship? (seen from low-space) How big & how small a ship can be moved? Does FTL require huge amounts of energy? Does it require the ship to be outside any planetary or solar gravity wells? Does each FTL "jump" require days of tedious mathematical calculations? Can a ship in FTL flight be detected by another ship also in FTL flight?(I know it's possible for ships outside of FTL) If my ship is 'hanging still' in high space does it's wake dissapate( is it based on engines and movement like that of a ship, or on something like mass?) If I release something in high space, will it instantly return to low space, 'drift up', or stay in high space unless disturbed? Is the supply of FTL drive units limited due to a tight monopoly on their manufacture, or due to the fact that they can no longer be manufactured at all? Do the drive units require rare and hard to get materials? Is there a unit of polyspace depth?(maybe every unit of depth halves the distance you need to travel or something) Am I allowed to make up technobabble when convienent? Do starships have a special name? Are there military systems for naming by size and function? If so what are they Should I use kerbin years and days or earth ones? Is the normal dimension called normal-space or low-space? can aero surfaces or ship angling be used to manipulate trajectories in high space? I would greatly appreciate if you would answer me, possibly by editing you KFWN and posting a small reply to catch my attention. Superstrijder

Hey Narwhal, I'm writing something which is basicly in your universe, can I ask you here when I have questions regarding theorie of your universe, and also post info about my ships and characters? Superstrijder

I think it is just easier to make an interesting story at jool, because of the diversity and the necesary mission size, and of course launch windows help to

Mathematical Laws of KSP (updated 7 July)
superstrijder15 replied to Gaarst's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Hereby follows that in missions of longer than ~root2 time-units, the change of forgetting the parachutes is infinite, as current elapsed time will at some point exceed the expected time, resulting in a negative probability, then someone will notice this and make probability a modulus(if negative number multiply by -1). at the end of the mission tc/te will be 2, modulus 1-2=1 so 100% chance. -
Hey Jans, I'm still playing 1.0.5 with remote-tech. With this version no difference is stated, but today I noticed that I can't perform orbital survey with the survey scanner using a probe with only RemoteTech antennaes. Due to this I think that now already things with the (stock) ore sensors will need both, and maybe the lab as well. Can't say anything for sure though, Cause I haven't got 1.1

In my opinion he would have needed to wait for the window, and in that time would have got caught. -

I think you should be okay as long as the story is (at least a little) about KSP or Kerbals. But if you're afraid of making foto's of thing outside KSP, note that you don't need pictures to write. In my opinion plain text does it very well too. -
I got it too, but I only use the xenon tanks: the engine trusts are really low anyway and the ISP is lower than stock xenon, in my opinion it is thus pretty useless.

Well, I should probably just get a laptop of less than 6 years old, built for processing power instead of to be easy to take with me to school..
