  1. Every week that goes by without any word or a fix, I just grow to hate KSP more and more. Why won't Squad give me my money back? It is over 2 months after release. How long am I expected to wait? What is too long? I didn't pre-order the game to play at some unspecified date. Hey Squad, recall your broken product please! Inform Microsoft and Sony that you don't know what you are doing, and apologize. You are being dishonest and ripping people off. Guess all that is pretty typical for an advertising company. Just wish this game was made by a competent video game company. Keep ignoring your customers Squad. See where that gets you.
  2. Although I never played it because it is not my kind of game, something similar happened when Payday 2 launched on consoles. Article here. The game is co-op only, and matchmaking was broken on consoles for months. Game updates released for PC weren't released on console for months. People were upset and articles were written about the fiasco. Here is the devs response. Payday 2 is having a sale on Xbox One right now, and one of the top threads on /r/XboxOne is warning other gamers about the broken game and lack of developer support for console. There is nobody even talking about the broken KSP console release outside of this forum. You would think that the KSP reddit or somewhere there would be people talking about this, but there is not.
  3. To my knowledge, there has been no word from the devs about 1.2 on console yet. Does anyone else know anything? Are we even allowed to ask about it? FT probably should have been working on that for the past 2 months, but instead, they are busy failing to fix their mistakes. Other devs have made it pretty important to release updates across all platforms pretty close together, usually within a week or a month at most in my experience. But for this game, we are expected to wait how long? Too long, that's certain.
  4. The game has a 5 star rating in the Xbox One store for some reason. People don't seem to care if they bought an unfinished, broken game. My guess is that most people don't put enough time into the game to run into these problems. I have contacted Microsoft support a couple times now about these issues, but that didn't do much. They weren't even aware there was a problem with KSP. Why this game didn't release into the early access program on Xbox One is beyond me. It's obvious to us that's what they should have done, as the game is clearly unfinished and in need of work. They really couldn't have done KSP any worse on console. It's too bad. Such a great idea for a game, such horrible execution.
  5. I think Squad needs to step up to the plate and recall the game, issue refunds, fix the problem, and then release the game when it's ready. That probably won't happen, but in any other business that released a broken or defective product, that would be the norm. Squad just puts it's tail between it's legs and runs off. Wow. It seems Squad wants to point the finger at Flying Tiger and try to absolve themselves from any responsibility to fix the problem, but we really don't care who's fault it was. It is two months after release and the game is still unplayable for me. Give me a refund or fix the problem. It's getting old. That just made my day. Thank you for the laugh.
  6. Contacted Microsoft support for the second time now this morning. They were not even aware there was an issue with a game breaking bug in KSP. This is what we are dealing with here. Looks like nobody really cares about this other than the few people who the game is not working for. The support staff said they would contact the developer, but why hasn't this happened sooner? I am really surprised that there has been seemingly no reaction to this broken release other than people in this forum asking questions. Any other game that would've released 2 months ago for $40 and been unplayable today would be getting some kind of bad press, somewhere. Everyone is way too quiet about this. Either it didn't sell as well on console as I think it did (it was listed as a bestseller in the store for about a month after release), or people just aren't delving too deep into the game on console. After all, this game requires you to actually do some learning, and some people just aren't into that.
  7. My guess is that they tested more failed attempts at a fix by FT. There was more in the devnotes regarding mods than there was talking about the broken console release and a fix. The lack of communication really is just ignoring at this point. It's getting to be so ridiculous that I just want Squad to come out with an apology, and issue refunds to those of us who want them. I am sure that would be embarrassing for them, and they don't want to do that. They would rather keep our money and tell us to wait, but what is an acceptable amount of time for us to wait? About 2 weeks was the acceptable amount of time for us to wait for a fix on console. It's been 2 months. This is kind of unprecedented as far as video game releases go. Bugs are one thing, but game breaking bugs like not being able to progress in the game going unfixed 2 months after release is a whole other issue. I have personally never experienced any game being this bad. It needed to get sorted out quickly, like a month and a half ago, and there needs to be some honesty and transparency coming out of both Squad and FT. Having this as our first impression of Squad and KSP isn't a good one. The game is not in early access on console and we did not pre-order the game to play it at some unspecified point in the future.
  8. This has been my experience. Scott Manley even stopped doing his console play through a couple weeks ago, after about 6 hours of total gameplay, which seems pretty consistent with the problems myself and others have been having.
  9. I cannot think of one game that I bought that was released in such a poor state as KSP was on console. The industry standard is not to release games with game breaking bugs, despite what you might think. PC users who bought the game in early access have different expectations from console users who bought a "finished" product at full price. Do you even own KSP on console? I am going to assume you don't, because if you did, you would probably not be here trying to defend Squad from any criticism.
  10. It's not heartless. You should have no loyalty to the company who sold you a broken product. I am kind of secretly waiting for someone to take this idea of a game and do it right as well. It's such a great idea for a game, but leaves a lot to be desired, especially on console without mods. Look at how transparent companies can be with their customers: https://trello.com/b/yxoJrFgP/subnautica-development I am really sick of Squad treating this like an early access game with their console release. It's like Squad is unaware that when you officially release a game, it should be finished.
  11. Sounds like you have run into the game breaking bug. Sorry to hear that. Not much you can do to get the game back to the way it was. A few people have posted some "workarounds," but they haven't worked for me. The game probably never should have been released in it's current state, and they are scrambling to find a fix. It is two months after release and we are still pretty clueless as to when a fix is actually coming. What a mess.
  12. @severedsolo, thanks for the reply. In all honesty, I do not think it is likely either. Just here letting them know we want it. There is a lot to be desired in the console version of KSP, and mods would certainly help fill the void. With all of the issues that KSP is having on console though, I really don't think it's going to happen. Version 1.2 will add some new features, a comm network, and we might see clouds on Kerbin in 1.3. I know they plan on adding new parts as well, but as of right now, stock KSP on console is seriously lacking content, and we have no idea when we will actually see 1.2 on console, let alone 1.3.
  13. Microsoft and Sony would never allow unregulated mods on their console, for obvious reasons like the one you mentioned. That doesn't mean that they don't allow mods. Malicious mods are nothing new, and they would never be allowed to get anywhere near a console. Mods for KSP on console would just require approval from Squad, Microsoft and/or Sony, and the mod maker. Hell, the mod makers could/should even be compensated. I am aware that not every KSP mod would work well on console, but that doesn't mean that console shouldn't see any mods. If there was enough demand and support to bring mods to Farming Simulator on console, I really don't see why KSP shouldn't have mods on console.
  14. Farming Simulator 17 will support mods on console on Xbox One and PS4 when it releases. Don't know why everyone keeps saying how impossible it is.
  15. Hope you are patient, because we are still waiting on a patch on console over 2 months after release. 1.2 hasn't even been released on PC yet, so I guess we can expect to see 1.2 on console maybe some time early next year... maybe? And don't dare ask about dates or specifics because that isn't allowed. The lack of deadlines is very concerning to me. What is an acceptable amount of time to wait? What is unacceptable? They are certainly pushing the limits with this game. Also, I was unable to get a refund from Microsoft less than a month after purchase so good luck if you go down that route.
  16. Right on. I don't really want to play this game without having craft in flight though. That kind of takes the fun out of it for me. It was fun to learn how to shoot rockets into orbit, but building stations, satellites, docking, and building and exploring on other planets is what I am looking to do in KSP. I have had problems doing all of those things, with no other craft, satellites, or debris and all my saved data deleted. So even when I follow the "rules", it doesn't work for me. Two months after release, I really just want to game to work as intended. While I guess technically it isn't unplayable as you can still mess around and do some stuff before you encounter problems, it seems to be just a matter of time before people do encounter game breaking problems that prevent them from progressing. After deleting all the games saved data twice now and losing hours of work, I really do not want to start in on another career until they have officially released a fix.
  17. Not to burst your bubble, but that "workaround" doesn't work for everyone. It certainly doesn't solve all of the issues with the game. Glad it seems to be working for you, but I have had to delete my saved game data twice now, and that is with deleting debris, deleting saved crafts, keeping my saves to 1 file, etc. My guess is that you just aren't far enough along in the game to encounter these problems, or you don't have a lot of satellites, probes, or craft in orbit, because the game is still unplayable for me and others.
  18. We are a lot more than one update away from "perfection" here. 20 failed attempts at making a game work as intended over two months after it was released has got to say something about Flying Tiger's competence to handle this efficiently. Also, what does this say about further updates or further complications at making this game work as intended? Getting really sick of Squad treating their console release like early access. Not what I signed up for.
  19. The expectations for a $40 game released onto Xbox One and PS4 are that it is functional at the very least. Bigger studios have released more polished and functional games that cost way less. KSP is competing with a lot of other AAA games at that price. The amount of content in game feels really small at that price, especially without access to mods. The game generally feels unfinished on console. I can't speak to the PC version. But to find out it has been in development for so long is very concerning. One would think that with NASA and SpaceX interested, and with the support of at least a million Steam users on PC, they could really have this game figured out by now. It seems like there are a lot of people who are very interested in this game's potential for learning, teaching, fun, and exploration in space, but that the games development has crawled along, with the released product looking pretty unfinished, and unplayable for some. I have others games on early access and I know what an unfinished game looks like, and what game development from small companies who communicate with their customers looks like. So far what KSP on console looks like is an early access game in an early stage of development, with a company that doesn't want to communicate with it's customers. I am not sure if I will go back to KSP whenever it is they release an update. At the rate they are going, it has a couple more years to go before it's done in my eyes. It's really frustrating because the idea of the game is so good. It could have had a story or career mode that was actually good, and that actually taught you about science. And why isn't there a mode where you can replicate actual space missions? I guess you can build something that kind of looks like a Soyuz with stock parts and role play, but I can't figure out why the real thing isn't in the actual game when it could have been. I think along with "why is this game still on the marketplace?", we should be asking ourselves why this game isn't actually better than it is, given the rave reviews on PC and support from the community.
  20. It seems pretty hard for the PC players to understand that maybe others are having a different experience than they had. You bought the game in early access, we didn't. The game was sold to us on console as a finished product. Nobody forced Squad to make that decision, as they could have released into early access on console. They could have delayed the release, or hired or more competent company to port their game in the first place. Hell, they could have even hired new staff and ported it internally so they could have complete control over the quality of their product. They could have done a lot of things that they didn't do. Nobody made them hire Flying Tiger, who has no history of porting PS4 or Xbox One games. They most likely did it, as someone else pointed out, because they were the cheapest company and because Squad stood to make the most profit by hiring them. As far as this just being "how things are done here," and us needing to just to used to it, that's not going to happen. You say you have been dealing with these painful delays for years and yet you bought a game in early access and I bought a finished game, or a game that was sold to me as finished. So yeah, you should have expected delays. I have early access games too and expect bugs and delays. It seems you have failed to make a distinction between an early access game and a finished game because the expectations are different.
  21. Don't worry about @Corona688, he doesn't even own a console and is just here to argue. If we stop replying to him maybe he will go away and stop pestering us. He is just trying to bait people into arguing with him anyway.
  22. @Corona688, you don't need to post the same "console patches update" over and over. It does not say anything different than it did when it was posted about 4 weeks ago or when you posted it the first time. It has now been posted 3 times on the same page, twice by you. You need to understand that you are not helping people and just being confrontational and rude. I am not sure why the mods are letting you troll this thread. At this point, it is clear that you don't own KSP on console and you just want to argue with people who are looking for help and answers.
  23. Communicating with their paying customers maybe? The silence from Squad certainly isn't helping. To just ignore your customers is pretty disrespectful. It's bad PR. When customers are ignored by Squad and instead met with a bunch of condescending remarks from the KSP apologists, it doesn't feel that great. It feels like we are getting trolled here. Add this to the multiple issues with the game itself, and it has taken away any confidence I had that my $40 was well spent.
  24. No patches have been released for console. Not sure where you get your information, and pretty sure you don't even own KSP on console and are just here to argue. Classic.
  25. What's with all the posts telling people to be patient and calling them foolish or childish for buying KSP on console and expecting it to work? You just like talking down to people? You obviously like the game or you wouldn't have 7,000 posts on here. Do you even own the game on console or are you just here like the other couple guys, looking to defend KSP from any criticism, however justified it may be? It may be possible that somebody else had a different experience than you and it's going to be okay.
