  1. I'm surprised Pluto is even represented, we're a month or so too early for pictures, or height maps.
  2. Click for higher res. First Duna landing in my career save.
  3. I've come up with the solution to the problem of landing too far away from the intended landing site. In such instances, a player could: A. use a rover to ferry kerbals, equipment, or fuel. Though this would necessitate a bulky rover stuffed somewhere on your ship. B. fire the engines to move the whole ship closer. This is risky and needs a lot of fuel, of which you may have none. The SRF-01 "Seltzer" rocket pack can fly a kerbal 10 or more kilometers from the landing site and land safely. The bulkhead under the seat could hold KAS pipes, struts, and most things that a kerbal can carry. During test trials on Duna: its compact size means it's easy to store inside a ship: screenshot30 by moon-man1, on Flickr
  4. how are the control thrusters supposed to be put on? they don't seem to align with the round fuel tank bits, or is their alignment still in progress? I can't wait to see this when it's all done and textured.
  5. You must download the Mir pack for Zarya and Zvezda, it's listed under the requirements. Was quoting the whole OP all that necessary?
  6. besides the clouds, any other visual mods?
  7. screenshot26 My attempt at completing a contract to get 2550 ore to kerbin orbit. I think I spent more money setting up the whole operation than the contract reimbursed me. At least I learned some valuable lessons about drilling. For example, not to connect it to Infernal Robotics parts otherwise it overheats crazy easily.
  8. are there plans to make a realism overhaul version of this at some point?
  9. Two scientists off to conduct experiments on a very peculiar structure. All scientific equipment taken off the rover and stowed on the base. I think it's been well over a year since I visited the arch. Haven't bothered looking for it due to the Mun's terrain changes, and more focus on interplanetary missions. My last sighting of the arch, circa 0.16-0.17 era. From Lunostancaya-1.
  10. my career mode Pioneer-Sunsat en-route to the sun, nearly grazing the Mun along the way. Incidentally, at 4000m/s, I made a 7km approach to an old lander probe!
  11. Sounds like that's a new feature from 1.01. It can be toggled with F10.
  12. the old firespitter switch did indeed work with tweakscale
  13. is there a download link somewhere to a version without Interstellar Fuel Switch? it seems to completely break Tweakscale.
  14. I have an inkling feeling that this is the doing of Nertea's latest CryoEngines release, which is bundled with "InterstellarFuelSwitch" the command pod is the root
  15. I'm getting this but with tanks, where I scale up this 1.25m tank, and it has somewhere around 2000-3000 fuel in the editor. Upon launch, the fuel reverts to the 1.25m state, but scale stays the same.
  16. This was one of the most useful mods available in KSP, it's a shame that this update finally broke it..
  17. google the Time Control mod for ksp, and try setting it up again, but in slow motion.
  18. I really want that docking boom and inline airbrake such a shame they were axed
  19. I'm trying to make a resource with characteristics that would make it so it can only be transferred from the generator to the part using the resource only with with fuel lines. Also, sort of a side question, can this also be accomplished without having to add a small resource container to both the generator and the part using the resource?
  20. The Levon-Helm Roller, the landing gear on the wheels essentially function as really wide tires. it can also walk on its hind legs, it did this for half the trip.
  21. I'm trying to recreate the Sea Dragon launch vehicle, and astronautix tells me that the first stage had a thrust of 36 million kgf. Kerosene if forced into the ignition chamber at 32 atmospheres, and liquid oxygen at 17 atmospheres. how would I translate 36 million kgf into a number that ksp can understand? does Realism Overhaul change the way ksp measures thrust? and from your experience with putting real life engines into the game, how does the pressure with which the fuel is forced into the chamber change the rate of consumption of each fuel. Or is that dependent on the ratio of the fuels?
  22. new Realism Overhaul save, here I'm trying to dock for the first time using the Apollo CM, and it wasn't easy. docking with the station was just practice, here I am docked with the Mars Express 1. Supposed to dock with 2 Apollo CM's and perform a Mars flyby. I got impatient and set off with only one crew, thinking I could gimbal my way around the offset mass. Turns out I can't, and the SAS don't really help as much as I needed them to, so I ejected the CM. next stop was interplanetary space, at which point I realized that I needed that command module, as it was the only thing letting me control the damn ship. Apparently it's uncontrollable from the MOL and it needed a communication link to Earth, which I didn't set up. The three brave astronauts will float in interplanetary space for the next 3-4 years until they run out of oxygen.
