So have been experimenting with KAS in two ways:

I have installed both versions of KAS side-by-side and so far nothing has exploded unintentionally...

Also - Installed IR-Next with KJR-Next - which has a magnetic grappler and even a super suction cup grappler.

I think I have the last of the nodes added, the grapplerJr was last. Now just cleanup and bugspray time.

 

the normal position of the grapplerJr is upside down for land vehicles (because of its grappler should be up) and the seat (which, oh, yes, I got working in this version) is upside-down.  I will add a command module orientation switcher soon.

I am expecting another update in 7-14 days. (Monday maybe)

I just pushed a new beta here:

This incorporates all of zer0Kerbal's changes

It also incorporates two changes to the engine:

  • Power is reduced, but heat remains the same.  I may need to adjust it a bit further, especially regarding the fuel usage.
  • The engine part can optionally use a new All Y'All module I just released as part of the All Y'All mod.  This will allow you to extend & retract all the engines with a single entry on the PAW

One more thing:  I merged the branch SeparatePatchesAndZer0Kerbal  into the master,

just downloaded (both 1.6 and 1.7) and seems like the changes I uploaded to github yesterday aren't in there. I am probably not doing something right.

You only need one, they are identical.

Let me check, there was something funky going on when I did a full merge

I'm comparing all of your branches to my master.  Which is the branch you did the PR from?

No, if that's the one you are working with, you could just do a PR from that to mine,  But I'll do it right now

 

patch-3 is only the changelog.cfg changes

I see the changed file - will attempt again (nodes 0.15)

patch-3 now has both files and a pr submitted. (am learning) @linuxgurugamer

but the pr you submitted was from patch 2

You were close.  I have it working, but seems that the module doesn't like the multiple AYA_ModuleAnimateGenerics in the file.  I'll get it fixed and put out an update for this as well once it's done

SO - cleaned up the disaster of a mess of my GitHub fork...

0.16 is being updated now on github:

  • All nodes should be in place on all eight parts with full B9 switch support.
  • All nodes *should* be orientated correctly.
  • All nodes have been renamed to reflect where they are.
  • Will post changelog in next post
  • Will push end of this weekend, if that works for you @linuxgurugamer
  • Will now work on KAS
  • Think I have worked out the intent of the winch on the grapplerJr (space tether)

Comment on Engines: After our discussion I started thinking and distinctly remember a note somewhere about these specific engines being higher than normal thrust/ISP due to being 'dirty' aka running hot like a WWII diesel being fed napalm or whisky. 'Dirty' as in very little radioactivity shielding.

* 120 degree nodes are precisely 120° apart with the 0° on the dorsal line; are also on the CoG, and since the engineonArm attachment point is also on its CoG, all balanced (I hope).
