I have the same issue after downloading manually and deleting the old folder before unzipping the update

I'm getting the same issue. I was wondering if it's more to do with other mods not fully updated for KSP v1.7.0, or is it a problem with B9 Part Switch itself?

I switched back to the previous version, or do y'all think it's safe to ignore the issue for now and stay with v2.7.0?

I think the warning being presented is new, but not necessarily related to the 1.7 update. I've been seeing warnings in the KSP.log for ages related to a screwed up config file from a mod. With this release these warnings were presented to the screen which prompted me to finally go fix the buggy file.

So, should I use B9 Part Switch v2.7.0 and just ignore the error messages for now while the issue is fixed, or would it be best to stay on v2.6.0 for now?

Oh, and thank you for assisting me.

You should be fine with B9PS v2.7.0. It's just telling you about problems you were blissfully unaware of before this version. You could post your KSP.log to maybe figure out where the errors are coming from.

Cool, ok, I've re-downloaded and here is a link to my output_log.txt file...

I made a copy of may save game and am running v2.7.0 without any noticable issues.

Anything it's complaining about now was an issue before, it was just a log message the no one ever read.  Keep sending me your logs and I'll figure out what the offending parts are.

The biggest problems I see are  PlanetarySurfaceStructures.dll from KPBS, KAS.dll and Accord.dll from Windtunnel are not loading. These need to be updated and recompiled for 1.7. KAS may not be fixed for a couple weeks as the maintainer left for a trip out of town yesterday and will be out for a couple weeks. These aren't related to the B9 Part Switch message, but are probably more significant problems.

B9PartSwitch is giving warnings about the following parts from the Mk2Expansion:

  • M2X.LiftFan: No transforms named Engine_mount found
  • M2X.HeavyVTOL: No attach nodes matching node_stack_bottom found

These are either an error in the .cfg file for the parts or a problem with the model for the missing transform. With these warnings B9 Part Switch probably can't swap variants on these two parts. You can check that these are up to date.

@GJNelson can you upload GameData/ModuleManager.ConfigCache for me to look at and also let me know what version of Mk2 Expansion you're running?

Edit: Apparently Github hasn't been updated with the latest changes, I see the issues and I'll report them

Edit2: I reported both the issues with Mk2 Expansion: first and second

Thanks to both of you! I had a feeling at least some of the problems were from other mods.

Mk2 Expansion got an update to KSP v1.7.0, so those issues might be fixed now. KAS I'll have to be patient and wait for, as you mention. Kerbal Wind Tunnel will eventually update too. Kerbal Planetary Base Systems (KPBS) will update soon too, it looks like.

Thanks again! Overall, with the rapid update of Kopernicus (Big kudos to them!!!), this KSP update has been fairly smooth for me. The KSP modding community is awesome!

I'll make sure the issues with SSPXr and NFConstruction are fixed in their respective updates.

They're legitimate configuration issues that have to be fixed in the respective mods.  2.7.1 didn't change anything fundamentally there, it just added more context to the message (you can see what part/module/subtype is causing them now).  I believe the BDB one is fixed in master but not in the release version, and Nertea just spoke to the SSPX one.

Do you know what mod the DemonBattery directory belongs to?  Issue seems to be with those parts.  Best guess is that both CryoTanks and it are adding fuel switching to its parts, but I'd have to see the configs/patches involved to be sure.

Okay, so it looks like this is an incompatibility with CryoTanks ... CryoTanks tries to add fuel switching to anything with LF/O and with LH2, so in effect it's adding two fuel switching modules that are conflicting.  Based on what I'm seeing it sounds like you probably don't want any fuel switching, but I don't see an easy way to prevent the switching patches from applying.  Might be something to coordinate with @Nertea on, maybe there could be some sort of flag on the part that prevents the CryoTanks patches from being applied if set?

This may be a repeat of what @Kilo60, and @juanml82 found:

B9PartSwitch - Serious Warning:

No transforms named 'Ladders' found.

Associated KSP log warnings appear to be:

[WRN 16:21:44.261] Warning on PartSubtype BlackHandles on module ModuleB9PartSwitch (moduleID='endcapSwitch') on part unknownPart: No
transforms named 'Ladders' found

[WRN 16:21:44.375] Warning on PartSubtype BlackHandles on module ModuleB9PartSwitch (moduleID='endcapSwitch') on part sspx-
expandable-centrifuge-375-2: No transforms named 'Ladders' found

I think Nertea was going to look at the NearFuture / SSPX issues.  It’s nothing that wasn’t broken before too, B9PartSwitch is just complaining about it now rather than just writing to the log so that they actually get fixed. You can send me your log if you want and I can see if any other mods have bad data too and let the authors know.
