Wait, was this study conducted by men?

Nope:

Katelyn M. Cooper, Anna Krieg, and Sara E. Brownell

Similar to the Dunning-Kruger effect?

Not really, this is more quantifying the self-concept different between men and women.

Was this a scientific paper dedicated to describing mansplaining?

jk, I found this passage from the article interesting because I helped my gf proofread a paper on getting specific demographics of students more involved.

Spoiler

Brownell suggested teachers and professors could be more mindful about who’s participating in class and who’s not.

As amusing as the documented, observable Unfounded Confidence of Man might be to some, I have a strong conviction that it is one of only a handful of Key Survival Traits[*] for the human race.  Most of what has been accomplished has been done only by those people unfamiliar with the concept of "impossible".

That's true.
Only physicists and IT specialists can properly and reasonably argue their intellectual supremacy between others.

P.S.
Maybe chemists, too, because chemistry is a chapter of physics.

Its a good point. Greed, selfishness, a propensity for violence, the "toxic patriarchy" that is the subject of so many civil rights movements today - even some things not exclusive to the male sex - can all be argued as being extremely effective survival measures as well, genetically speaking.

I think it goes without saying that we would do better without them today, but we may not have ever become the dominant species without many of the things which today we regard as bad, or even *evil*.

Human species should upgrade from v1.0 to v2.0.

Hmmmmm... dis make me thonk....

You know this means? Because men overestimate their intelligence more than women, EVERY man overestimates their intelligence. Why? Because people tend to also overestimate statistics.

Wait? A megaton asteroid that contains only 50kg  platinum? Thats alot! Isn't a megaton of platinum going to bring the price down to the price of dirt?

This is how it works.

https://www.google.ru/search?newwindow=1&source=hp&ei=3rvQWoLHDaeQmgW3n5S4Bg&q=metal+account&oq=metal+account&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0l2j0i22i30k1l8.1139.3473.0.4259.13.12.0.1.1.0.131.1119.11j1.12.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.13.1125...0i131k1j0i10k1j0i22i10i30k1.0.tXQOqLe5tIA

And in case of asteroid you anyway need just to own the platinum, not bring it here.
And it can't be stolen.

It's also a play on words - people who have knobs are knobbish, that's to be expected...
